Received today, with remarkably fast delivery to the UK. Good to have this superlative recording in a new attractive presentation with additional notes by Douglass Fake and a full cue assembly which wasn't on the previous release. The differences in the alternate cues are subtle but distinct in comparison and essential for Rozsa completists. I particularly like the 'Gentle Night' alternative played by a reduced number of musicians. For the person who queried the running time of 'Caesar, Now Be Still', there is no error. The cue is longer than the original - you get an extra 20 seconds of drum beats! One minor caveat. For some reason the session photographs are not as sharp as those in the previous release's booklet.

I have all the film score re-recordings Intrada produced over the years, and find them all terrific. Like a dream come true when IVANHOE and JULIUS CAESAR were released back in the day. If they ever record more, which they now do with BLACK PATCH, I'll be there.

I can see light faint grey boxes underneath the tracklist text and MGM red-colored quote on the back tray art. Was this accidental (Photoshopping artifact maybe)? Will this be seen on the printed out tray, too?

Probably ghost images of files or the like on your computer screen.

No, not ghost images on my screen.

When I go to play the sample clips on Intrada's site, on every track there is an audible, albeit faint, glitch/'click' sound that occurs in the background once every second on every track. Can anyone else please let me know whether they are encountering this? I've just downloaded and played through several other albums' sample clips from Intrada's site before and after Julius Caesar without issue and I'm not hearing this anywhere else so I don't believe it's a hardware issue on my end (maybe just a bad download of the clips though I tried deleting and redownloading several times). I'm assuming this is not present on the actual album/CD, but would anyone please confirm? I'm very interested in getting the CD as I don't have the previous version, but I'm concerned if this glitch is present in the recording. Thank you.

Update - I tried downloading and playing the clips this morning on a different computer with different headphones, and same issue. Anyone else hearing anything similar? Error/glitch just in the sample clip files? Or, would anyone who has the CD care to comment whether this is apparent on the CD? I just want to be sure as this otherwise sounds like an outstanding recording! Thank you.

Hmmm, what I'm hearing for sure sounds like a bad CD rip, and is for sure not present on the original CD.

Will ask on the Intrada forum about it.

I'm hearing the exact same thing and I came here to post/ask about it. An intermittent, rhythmic "tick. tick." It can be heard in the sound samples from the Intrada website. If it's on the CD then this should be pulled from market because it's unlistenable. But if it's just the online sound samples, then that's just really weird!

On Intrada's forum, Roger has confirmed the problem is apparent on the CD as well as the clips. It's taking time to find the cause though, so a remedy isn't announced yet.

Maybe my hearing isn't what it used to be, but I don't hear the clicks that folks have been talking about. Granted I don't use headphones, but I do have a high-end sound system, and to me this sounds fine. Is it a faint sound that's really subtle, buried deep down?

I don't hear the clicks even when listening on headphones. Clearly it's an advantage having cloth ears.

Maybe it’s a countdown signal like from Independence Day movie. Invasion begins when ticking stops. I’ve actually heard it on one of local radio stations which has a constant ticking. Shut off the radio station and ticking stops. It is not by design.

Latest on the ticking problem from Roger F. on Intrada's forum today (Wednesday, 15th), suggesting it's a problem that's happened before:

"Still working on it. Seems like the same issue as Legal Eagles. What's mysterious how it is only on a couple of releases. We'll keep you posted".

oh, crap...I got it in the mail last week but I hadn't the time to listen to it...I hope I'm not in for a bad surprise.
Plus, this cost me practically its weight in gold!

oh yes, the effing clicks are there.
It's like running a vynil with some dust stuck into the grooves, not enough to make it skip, but enough to drive you crazy.
This is dismaying, and quite shoddy: I cannot believe that no one at Intrada bothered to listen at least once to the finished product, which is supposed to be a limited, and shamefully expensive, "prestige" product.
One lesson learned I guess.

It seems if the download version is also on hold due to this issue.
