So weird--I just randomly decided to watch this film a few months ago and found myself listening closely to the score (as one does). I had a feeling this would be getting a proper treatment at some point but it just feels sometimes like the FBI agents watching my internet habits have no subtlety.

Oddly enough my wife and I just watched this a few weeks ago. Maybe we should start watching other movies we want the scores for!

If this and Love Field are scraping the bottom of the barrel then please keep scraping! Can’t wait to hear these two scores smile

Absolutely! (Although I've never heard Love Field. But it's Goldsmith so I bought it with Dante's Peak)

Yeah, why wouldn't these two merit a release? My idea of scraping the bottom would be Hans Zimmers Sketches.

Playing the OST on YouTube right now, kinda digging it. Better than I remembered. Seems like it would go well with Volcano.

The front cover says THEME by James Newton Howard but the quotes/blurb says THEMES by JNH.
Which is it?
Did JNH write one main theme, or more?

Just watched the opening credits of my DVD and it says "Theme by James Newton Howard". The same for the poster.

the main theme and the love theme are THEMES

and he did whole sequences, according to Frizzell's quotes and tracklisting credited cues

As James Newton Howard wrote more than one theme "Themes" would have been more appropriate. It probably says theme for contractual reasons or something.

So from this track list it seems James Newton Howard actually composed six full cues for this score before leaving the project, aside from Frizzell using at least two of his themes throughout. Fascinating. I love Howard and I've long heard this is one of Frizzell's very best, so very tempted to order.

By the way Mr. Jack, this has been one of Varese's most requested titles for years. Every time they say a new batch is coming up, they've been inundated and like a third of the replies on Facebook have been various people demanding Dante's Peak. So I don't think this is barrel-scraping and I think they'll sell a lot of these, personally.

Does this mean I need to start asking a lot for Peter Pan? Pater Pan...Complete!

Pater Pan...Complete!

Is that like an Irish adaptation I’m unfamiliar with Roger? wink

^ Nah, the new cover art is better.

BTW, the hell was up with that original cover? That was, at best, a score album cover to differentiate from the songtrack album.

I like this one better - don't need pale, colorless heads on my volcano wink

----------------------------------
Well, Roger...you know the drill...
"I do believe in Fairies...I do, I do....I do believe in Faeries..." big grin

In all seriousness, how much is missing from their original JNH PETER PAN release?
I do love that score.

About an hour. Full release would require two discs.

I believe it was the advanced poster if I'm not mistaken. I like the style of both posters really.
