This is a photo I saved from somewhere or other. Possibly, someone here may have posted it once upon a time. If I had to guess, it is from the early 1950s. Johnny Green is at the head of the table (he was department head). Conrad Salinger is to his immediate left. In the foreground, Hugo Friedhofer (left) and Andre Previn (right).
I believe the fellow on the right, with the carnation in his lapel, sitting next to Andre Previn, is Jeff Alexander.
And could be Daniele Amfitheatrof the fourth to the right? Also Scott Bradley could be near Johnny Green in front of Kaper. You know, they worked in those Lassie movies. Great set, by the way form FSM.
I think is possible to see Miklos Rozsa, hes is the first sits at left of picture nearest of the head John Green. correct?
The second (1989) edition adds a chapter and some late photographs, but omits many of the pictures from the 1982 original (paper ed., 1984). In the original, which was printed on glossy paper, the photos were distributed throughout the text instead of in a dedicated section. It's the same photo, with signatures.

This was probably taken in the early ‘50s, when Previn was conducting Friedhofwr’s score for “Above And Beyond”.
And as an adjunct to the photo above, this is a shot of the Freed Unit at MGM, circa 1945. Possibly, it was a social occasion. Roger Edens is at the piano. Kay Thompson is beside it. Arthur Freed is in the center of the photo wearing a bow tie.
It's likely a photo of a rehearsal session for the Jerome Kern biopic TILL THE CLOUDS ROLL BY. Kern may have been receiving a presentation of the songs that were planned to be included in the film.
I found another copy of this photo in a book. Let's see if there's more info on the persons therein.
