I hadn't heard any Piccioni scores at all until picking up the Quartet centenary two-fer (on a whim), and I have to say I'm blown away! Colpo Revente and Il Dio Sotto La Pelle are both INCREDIBLE. After those I've gone and picked up a few more -- Puppet on a Chain, Il Demonio and A Girl In Australia -- they're INCREDIBLE as well!!

Colpo Rovente is so wild-eyed, I can't help but feel pumped up listening to that main title theme. GREAT score!!

Il Dio Sotto La Pelle is true vibes. I've been manically going through the Piero Piccioni recommendations thread, and hardly see anyone talk about it here at FSM... but if you go on to YouTube you'll see there's half a million people listening to this score (I think Tyler The Creator might have sampled It's Possible at one point?). Those Catherine Howe songs are a true delight, had the St. Francis in Katmandu song stuck in my head for a week. It's so good.

Il Demonio truly gets under your skin. I love horror scores and this music just blows me away. The organ pieces contrasting with the incredible musique concrete and percussion... I'll be playing this for a long time. Hope to pick up some more scores of his in this vein in the future -- wish Lo Straniero was still in print!

A Girl In Australia kind of boggles my mind to be honest -- The love theme is so beautiful, the 'pop' instrumentals are some of the catchiest I've ever heard; and "Revelation" might be one of the most breathtaking songs I've ever heard on a film score. Wish there were more Catherine Howe / Piccioni songs out there in the world... this one might be my favorite even over It's Possible and St. Francis In Katmandu. I haven't seen this movie, but there's no WAY that it does justice to this music.

Puppet on a Chain ROCKS. KILLER score.

Now after doing some feverish research, I'm going to try and pick up a few more when i can afford them -- Le Altre, Il Monaco, the Fumo Di Londra 3CD, Una Tomba Aperta, the Rosi 3-fer, and the Nunsploitation CD (wish that Avanz CD was still around). Are there any more I should be keeping an eye out for?

My Top 20 would be something like this

Bello, onesto, emigrato australia sposerebbe compaesana illibata (1971)
La volpe dalla coda di velluto (1971)
Scacco alla regina (1969)
Colpo rovente (1970)
C'era una volta (1967)
Amore mio aiutami (1969)
I giovani tigri (1968)
Ti ho sposato per allegria (1967)
Un modo di essere donna (1973)
Il faro in capo al mondo (1972)
Fumo di londra (1966)
Il dio sotto la pelle (1974)
Camille 2000 (1969)
Kenner (1969)
Peccato mortale (1973)
Tutto a posto e niente in ordine (1974)
L'italia vista del cielo (Lombardia - Toscana - Lazio) (1972)
Le sorelle materassi (1972)
Il medico della mutua (1968)
Bora Bora (1968)

That was expected, but great to know it is confirmed. It could also include scores previously released on CD but not yet available as digital releases, like they did for the previous Paura compilation.

And indeed, the first Piccioni score that was released online today is simply I dolci inganni, which is already available on CD.

Camille 2000 is a GREAT counterpart to Il Dio Sotto La Pelle & Colpo Rovente - a mix of the wild eyed & true vibes, as you so aptly described the two latter scores..

There is a remastered, expanded version of Camille 2000 available either as CD or as a download on Bandcamp.

That would be my first go to, seeing as you enjoyed Colpo & Il Dio Sotto so much!

The Catherine Howe songs on Il Dio Sotto, in particular It's Possible, are sublime. I've never heard anything quite
like that song, even in Piccioni's own discography.

Bill, I also played again that brand new compilation yesterday evening, as well as his (logically) more classical but very enjoyable score to IL MALATO IMMAGINARIO. I wonder if I should get the recent scores published by Quartet Records since I don't know them. I will pay a listen to the samples.

I'm still hopping about Lattuada. Jazz and early orchestral dissonance drama in 1961 L'imprevisto. 20 days remaining...

Is that colpo and and il dio sotto la pelle ? Yes both good.

My current fave is amore mio aiutamo. Really upbeat and lively.
If you dont have them laurent check out "allo scacco regina" and "i married you just for fun" (Ti ho sposato per allegria) on youtube. - both mentioned above by others.
Rarely a duff score by Pigeons but these are nice. Lol

BillCarson is helping himself to 2 servings of Monica Vitti!
[Bill already has Ingrid Pitt, Claudia Cardinelli & Francesca Annis within his harem ... who else does this cheeky little blighter have the hots for?]

Wow, we both made a cock-up being thoroughly oblivious to Monica's Big 9-0 last month!

And indeed, the first Piccioni score that was released online today is simply I dolci inganni, which is already available on CD.

It seems to me that they have just taken Saimel´s digital master and only omitted the two rather unimportant tracks 30 and 31 which were filler material at the end of the CD. But otherwise the chronological sequencing is the same one as on the CD and for the most part they even took over the track titles (translated into Italian) which I had put together for the Saimel CD in 2017.
One track from I DOLCI INGANNI can now be found on CAM/Sugar´s "A Modern Gentleman" compilation CD/LP which has been simply titled "M 11". This is track 24 on the Saimel CD and is the alternate version (not used in the film itself) of track 11 "Francesca Visits a Friend". On the new Decca digital release this track has the title "Jazz Friends 2".

I DOLCI INGANNNI is of course one of the earliest Piccioni scores represented on the "Modern Gentleman" compilation. Therefore I suppose that the next digital Piccioni release by CAM/Sugar will be either LA NOTTE BRAVA or MONDO DI NOTTE N° 2.

I want to party and celebrate Maestro PP with a favourite, Lo straniero however it's not congenial.

Actually, I did listen to Lo straniero days ago ... now listening to Scusi, lei e favorevole o contrario?.

Lo straniero is no stranger to me. I have been selecting titles that get less attention as we approach the midway point of this celebration. It's Sordi time here also, Piccioni's alter personality in music. French Alberto, Le témoin.
