When Quarter re-released Rozsa "Sherlock Holmes" they add suite recorded by composer for Polydor in 70 with Royal Philharmonic. It was shocked and surprising because those Polydor tapes seems to be lost... and they even comfirmed Ithat Sherlock Polydor suite WASN'T vinyl rip... so tapes needs to be somewhere.
And who knows, maybe addition of Sherlock Polydor suite was some kind of teaser and all Polydor recordings os coming?
It will be true miracle if the 3CD set will be Rozsa Polydors together in one box...

That was my thought too. The big question is if Quartet would do a nostalgia style set and put each LP on each own disk or if they would do a two CD set.
Could well depend on the licensing agreements whether they could be combined or kept separate. However, as much as I’d love it to be, I really doubt it is this and I’m not even letting myself even think of it as that way will lead only to disappointment. I am hoping we might see another Morricone Dollars score released. Last years GBU release was wonderful.
Regarding Nino Rota's "War and Peace," I understand that the sonic quality has always been dreadful and this is due to errors made during the original tape recording/mixing of the score. I have the impression that the only way Rota's "War and Peace" will ever sound the way it should is to re-record it.
Still don't see any CD release date listed. What exactly do you see?
