Ugh. I know I spoke in support of this movie, but now I am reconsidering. It looks as if they turned Princess Peach into a girlboss. She's probably going to speak with feminist rhetoric throughout the rest of the movie.
The music in that Mushroom Kingdom clip sounds way more like John Powell than Brian Tyler. Did he plug into some kind of Powell-App to source that music? It sounds like it's come straight from ROBOTS or some other animated John Powell score.

No. I enjoy John Powell animated scores. I was just shocked at how close to the temp track Tyler went during that scene. May as well have licensed the original cue.
Reviews are in and 3/4 of them mentioned the music!
Brian Tyler did an incredible job with the score. It was so great to watch a movie based on video game for once that maintained that indelible music that makes you want to play in these worlds in the first place.
Movie was fun! Really liked Brian Tyler's score a whole bunch, honestly I don't think it would've been nearly as good without his excellent score filled to the brim with iconic Mario tunes.
It’s a movie that left me disappointed in the hallow emptiness and over indulgence on gleam and nostalgia. Brian Tyler’s face melting score and Jack Black are the only redeeming qualities.
The Super Mario Bros Movie is gorgeously animated and filled with tons of fun nods to the games, but ultimately extremely shallow and forgettable beyond that. Shoutout to Brian Tyler for some incredible work with the musical arrangements, though. He’s the MVP.
Super Mario Bros Movie is the perfect film that Mario fans have asked for! I love the animation, the voice casting, the game-accurate looks, the characters, the humor, the action sequences, the references, Brian Tyler’s score, and more! Highly recommend for Mario fans!
This movie is insanely fun and charming. Easter Eggs galore while also being it’s own thing. Some of the real world songs were a bit obvious, but Brian Tyler’s score delivered and more. Chris Pratt and everybody else worked. Two endings!
The Super Mario Bros Movie is a great time for the whole family. While the plot is pretty thin, it has great voice acting, amazing visuals and sound and a solid score by Brian Tyler.
The Super Mario Bros Movie has been poorly reviewed by critics, but box office analysts foresee a massive opening weekend for the Nintendo adaptation. Speaking for myself, it's worth a watch just to hear the score from Brian Tyler.
Brian Tyler did an spectacular job with the music, it was bang after bang non-stop till the end.
The Super Mario Bros Movie was an absolute joy from beginning to end! The story is fun, delightful & compelling with heart, humour, & adventure capturing the essence of Mario with impactful themes of brotherhood & proving yourself! Fun voice-work & nostalgic score from Brian Tyler.
