Yikes. Well, lesson learned I guess don't put stuff out there for free on the internet. That's... a kinda shitty reply. Do you really want to discourage steffomuk from sharing his superb custom cover art here? There are many people here like me who really appreciate his work (and him generously sharing it with fellow fans for free) so it'd be nice if you didn't write stuff like this. The last time something like this happened was on Intrada's Secret of NIMH expansion 7 years ago, and that was resolved quite amicably if you follow this thread: https://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?pageID=1&forumID=1&threadID=111333&archive=0 I have no doubt there was no ill intent and somebody just did a Google search and assumed steffromuk's work was original to the studio, or something. (I of course realize it's a bit of a different case as he was doing a graphic design treatment of someone else's work, as opposed to Adam McDaniel actually creating an original image from scratch.) I'll write whatever I want to write Mr. Gatekeeper. Thanks. Yes, clearly you will. Thanks for making it absolutely unambiguous that you couldn't care less about negatively impacting other people here who appreciate steffromuk sharing his work publicly. The concept of free speech doesn't mean that you can write whatever you want without ever getting pushback from anyone else. And calling someone out for making a shitty comment — which I actually did fairly gently in your case — doesn’t make someone a gatekeeper. (But we do supposedly have those here; they’re called moderators.) Yavar

Why not wait for the sound clips and order it based on whether you like them? For what its worth, I’ve often found that just buying into the hype will often leave you disappointed in life. Just judge this on its own merits, is my advice. Have you any familiarity with the original Conan the Barbarian? If you liked that you will most likely enjoy this as well, but be prepared for a clearly lower music budget and a chunk of music reused from the first score, because Poledouris apparently had just ONE WEEK to both write and record over an hour’s worth of music for this. That said, there’s enough wonderful unique new material in this (“Chamber of Mirrors” is a great example) to make it a must buy, for me. Yavar

BornOfAJackal: I urge all who haven't yet got Barbarian to do so, as this release may precipitate a sellout on that title, which is extremely well-produced and essential. Basil Wrathbone: Extremely well-produced? That wouldn't be my description. Considering all the news over the years about the dodginess of the tapes and performances, I sure keep listening to Barbarian a lot. It's one of the few multi CD sets of the last decade that I actually listen to all the content in sequence, maybe plus or maybe minus the original album. If that's bad production, it's lost on me.

I'm very grateful for all the work that steffromuk has shared with us and this news disappoints me. Is there anything that we can we do to help that's at least polite? Count me as one of those folks who is also grateful for the work posted by Steffromuk. While unfortunate, I'm sure this was completely unintentional by Intrada. I hope this doesn't dissuade Steffromuk from continuing to share his amazing work.
