I have to wait until after work on Tuesday before I can order this, I hope it doesn't sell out before.
There's no chance of it selling out quickly, Henry. 5000 units of one of the lesser known Williams/Spielberg films. It will be available quite a long time.
And honestly, there hasn't been a complete sellout of a title within 24 hours in a very long time.

It isn't on sale for anyone until Tuesday... so I'm not sure what the concern is.

Hi Mike! I know it's not on sale until Tuesday, but I'll be at work when it does go on sale and not knowing how well it will sell I was just a little concerned. I know it won't completely sell out in that time, but I don't want to wait for the next pressing in case it sells fast.
Besides being one of William's most varied scores, AMISTAD is notable for having a really rich and dynamic mix with deep low end and (to my ears) wide dynamics - an audio feast. Something to look forward to in hearing the new mastering.
Iam looking forward to another podcast session with Matessino on Maurizio & Tim Burdens Legacy series (Not aannounced as yet but I guess soon) This one would be a delight to whet ones appetite before the album arrives.
Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not doing one. Audio wise this was 100% a pre-Covid project, so it feels like a lifetime ago. We'll spend a few minutes on it for a future podcast next year.

Oh wow! this was ages ago. I can understand that it will take time to recollect. Look certainly look forward to it next year with other fresh new releases.
I wonder how many more titles are still stuck in that pre-pandemic pipe, waiting for further sign-offs and all that jazz?
I'm tempted to wait for a future New Deluxe Edition of the forthcoming CONAN THE DESTROYER, cos this one coming is over 10 years old, sound production-wise!!!
Here's a promo trailer I was honoured to produce for the fine folks at LLL. Hope it might tease anyone who still is undecided to buy this marvelous release!
I am likely going to buy this score. I heard the samples and was blown away. I bought The Burbs and Tomorrow Never Dies out of this batch. This sounds like such a powerful Williams score though that I may be foolish to pass it up.

What are your guys’ thoughts on this score?
It's top drawer John Williams. Excellent score, perfectly supporting the movie it was written for, but holds up well as a classic composition on its own.
What a terrific release! This is the only Spielberg film I have yet to see (besides The Fabelmans, which I will remedy soon), but I've always loved the album. I know few of you (besides Thor) will agree, but to me, far too many expanded albums just feel like "Here's more of this!" (Before anybody besides Thor objects, there are definitely exceptions. And now Thor objects.)
But Williams' expansions tend to add layers to the listening experience, not just variations. This one definitely takes the listener on a long but compelling journey.
On the old album, the "Dry Your Tears, Afrika" vocal was treated like an overture, so as that melody came back during the course of the album, it harkened back to what we knew. In the new (film) order, that melody is what Williams is building towards, not the other way around, and it makes a terrific climax. Both ways of listening are valid, but very different.
I'm loving this, and it sounds terrific. Great work! I really appreciate it!
I haven't bought this yet (nor will I now until sometime in January) and I haven't spun the original album in quite some time either. My memory of it is long stretches of moody, dark suspense music and renditions of Cinque's equally low-key/sombre theme early on, intercut with the chirpier 'Dry Your Eyes' choir anthem here and there. Then, the second half is an endless battery of Americana styled cues for the courtroom scenes and bearded dudes. That's how I recall things anyway. The film is well-mounted and great looking and worthy and all, but I remember being a bit bored by it (and strangely unmoved for such an emotive subject), much in the same way I was with LINCOLN (I absolutely adore that score btw). I'm looking forward to hearing how this new expanded edition changes the state of play.
