I'm very happy to read that the Transformers album will get a wider downloadable release.
I can only hope that they'll release other albums (volume 2, 3...) for this series as well as for G.I. Joe, as I love both Johnny Douglas's and Rob Walsh's contributions for both (and so much music is missing from the two existing albums).

I agree fingers crossed. smile

Time to post this fun video. I love the odd metering of the theme, and will happily listen to the digital release!

The First Transformers Theme Was WILDLY Confusing

This is probably a bit of a slog if you're not a musician, but the energy carries it along.

I really enjoy this guy and his enthusiasm that's so evident in his videos, but this one got me totally baffled. The end credits is not a weird time signature, it's just a terrible edit big grin someone looped the beginning and didn't do it very well. The chop comes just before the melody starts.

I also remember reading that the "autobots wage their battle.... etc" lyric was never meant to be a lyric. It was supposed to be a voice over, but it was labelled wrong. Absolutely genius managing to get them sung!

Thanks for sharing this video, that was super fun and informative!

Though I have the 2018 LP, I'm glad it's finally getting a digital release. Of course, I'd rather have it on CD, but that's not the way the world works anymore... :^(

I'll definitely be purchasing it again.

Same here, I'm happy to purchase a digital release of that 2018 album, just to have those tracks without the usual audio artefacts on vinyl. I do have to say, though, that it's still such fun to play this LP as for me it really represents teh perfect album that should have been released way back then, around 1986/87, to present highlights from the series' library cues.

Can't wait to see a release date announced for this one.

A much as the G.I. Joe album is incomplete, it's on (near) constant repeat big grin

I never had much connection to the movie

Do you mean the good one with Robert Stack, Judd Nelson and Orson Welles or the one with Megan Fox?

Since they said "the" I think we know the answer already. There are way too many of the Bay movies. Like, more than zero.

It looks like this updated album release doesn't feature much additional music, other than 1 additional library cue and a "remix", but for anyone who missed out on the initial LP release it will be a great thing to pick up!

It does seem as though there will also be a digital (not CD) release of the music, which means I can set aside the LP-to-mp3 transfer I did back in 2018!

That will be great indeed!

It’s kinda ridiculous that this most excellent music was only available on 50-year-old technology.

The artwork is gorgeous, that's definitely a frame-able LP - not that the first one wasn't. Looking forward to the digital release.

A CD might happen one day, we'll have to wait and see I guess.

And I agree - the digital G.I Joe album gets a lot of play - including the bonus tracks that came with the recent game release.

Oh, the art of this new Transformers LP is absolutely frame-worthy, it exceeds the album cover on the Enjoy The Ride Records release.

Yes indeed, the GI Joe album release in 2020 was also very welcome and has been played as often as the Transformers album (and not the short but sweet Spiderman and His Amazing Friends album!). I have both the GI Joe LP and digital release, but forgot that the game included additional library score cues... Is there any way to get those bonus cues outside of the game?

Still wondering why this cue is missing.

I know! I have thought the same thing!

In an ideal alternate universe in which La-la Land Records was able to release all this music from the show on a 2-CD set , similar to their 2-CD set for the 80's He-Man series, then that 3-second transition cue could be happily tacked on to the last track on the album!

Or the last track on Disc 1 (the Autobot symbol disc), prompting the listener to change to disc 2 (the Decepticon symbol disc)!

Excited for the release date, though bummed it will only be 1% less incomplete than the LP. I really want everything from both Transformers and G.I. Joe; all the Rob Walsh — and especially the Johnny Douglas — music. And I’ll take it any way I can get it, even if it’s a digital-only release.

Haha, that would have been neat !

Same thing here ! Wile I'm so happy to finally listen to officially released tracks (I bought the G.I. Joe videogame soundtrack simply to have a few more precious minutes of Walsh's material), I often long for all that wealth of music still unreleased for both series.

I really hope for CD version.
It would be awesome celebration of 40th Anniversary of Transformers Animated Music.
