There was a songbook published with all the songs from the album back in the day - I was grateful they at least had this one Grusin cut.

There's a great fanmade sheet for Fratelli Chase, it's awesome but really challenging. Good to have goals...

I'm a big fan of this score. Wish I had a synth setup to play "Starnight" - such a great track

If anyone was curious how the published sheet music for a few of the '84 Dune tracks were arranged / reduced for keyboard here's a demonstration for ya. Definitely loses something when you strip away the percussion, choir and guitar! Nevertheless I find these very enjoyable to play.

I was excited to try this out last week, as I just found out Hal Leonard published it recently in a horror film theme collection. (Simply under the title "Bram Stoker's Dracula", although it's clearly a reduction of "Vampire Hunters".). Anyway I think it's a fun arrangement of a great theme.

The book also includes premiere releases of Children of The Corn, The Amityville Horror, Poltergeist, Pet Sematary (Goldenthal), Carrie (The Crucifixion scene) among others - so I am extremely stoked!

This is awesome! Good job. Loved this score when it came out. Listened to it a lot while being drunk. Fun memories.

Thanks! Yeah this was one of my favorite score discoveries when I first saw it in the theatre. I literally went out and bought the CD that day!

The "Dune Souvenir Songbook" published in 1984 not only has all of the album tracks from Toto, but the beautiful Brian Eno track as well. However, it is adapted for piano very strangely since the left hand is broken up into repeating arpeggios, which doesn't compliment the dreamlike flow of this piece. I tried playing those notes as solid "pads" instead and thought it turned out well. I decided to edit some imagery from the movie to pay tribute to one of my favorite "formative years" movies.

I was yawning until I saw AMITYVILLE HORROR. Is it the Schifrin?

And congratulations on getting to an admirable level of piano proficiency, MM. I'm jealous! smile

Thanks David - I'm slowly getting better.

Heck yeah it's the Shifrin Amityville! (Although I wouldn't complain if it was the Howard Blake theme!)

Here are the book details if you want to track it down https://www.halleonard.com/product-family/PC27375/horror-music

looking it over I see a handful I'd like to play. The only "Ave Satani" I have is a fan-done version.

THE EXORCIST would be a memory from my past, hearing that theme on the radio multiple times a day back then.
Twilight Zone TV series? I hope it's the Constant, not the new TV series. Too bad it's not the Herrmann. (and too back nobody ever did the Herrmann Suspense theme!)

In case you were curious how the old published sheet music for Johnny T's "Jane Eyre" sounds, here's my interpretation. Very bare-bones, but still a lovely tune

I wish the published sheet for Blue Thunder was the beautiful "Ride with The Angels"! Alas, it is a nerfed "Murphy's Law". Still, I find it interesting how a kinetic electronic piece was stripped down to a simple piano piece. For those curious about this '83 sheet music relic:

Much to my delight Warner Bros published a songbook for the whole Chariots Of Fire album at the time of the movie's release. The moody "Abraham's Theme" has always been one of my favorites.

2 sheets were published in 1972 for Silent Running ("Rejoice in the Sun" and "Silent Running"). Here's a reading of the former.

I do miss the little descending bells (celeste?) at the end instead of the solid chords, I'll have to see if I can interpret that with the keys

I've always loved this Jerry score - here's a stab at the brief published sheet music arrangement

Very nice.

the brief published sheet music arrangement

I remember being surprised how short it was, too.
