It made a lasting impact and I just knew that Basil was going to win the Emmy for that episode of the mini series (and he did). The music is incredibly lovely and gives the scene a heartfelt resonance without words. When it blossoms into a full melody after halting and restarting every time Subotai appears, disappears, and reappears in the dunes, it is just gorgeous. That's "Tree of Woe", which reuses the Theology/ Civiliation theme when Subotai re-appears. "Recovery" is the beautiful statement of the "Riddle of Steel" theme when Conan has his swordplay moment as he recuperates after nearly dying. I'll not say that other choices from different scores are bad - some very good tracks listed here - but they're wrong.
