Dreamed so long of having this, Octopussy and Moonraker complete. Still can’t believe we have them all now. Just an aside to my dream cue for Golden Gun- wished they could have included in the bonus section Let’s Go Get ‘Em without the slide whistle lol.

This is fantastic! With these de luxe editions coming out, I think we are in for 2 disc versions of them all. A great christmas present every day. And me being 46 years old, I might get to have them all before I die! smile

There was no take without it. If you want that, edit a version for yourself.

Golden Gun is a very good score, considering the time constraints put on John to do it. Underrated.

What’s the story behind that.

I believe he had three weeks to score it. The film production was rushed too.

On 24 Dec, 2024 it will be 50 years since I first heard this splendid score.

Hugs and kisses to all at LLL!

Barry had just finished scoring The Day of the Locust in Los Angeles, flew back to England, and started immediately on TMWTGG.

One thing that has emerged over the years is that Barry sometimes wrote multiple songs for a Bond film before selecting one: YOLT, definitely; and I strongly suspect that on OHMSS The More Things Change was considered for the main song--even the title suggests it: the more things change (Lazenby) the more they stay the same (Bond).

Anyway, I think the Lulu song was JB's first stab and he just didn't have time to write another. Just speculation, but the time restraints and the fact that JB always hated the song fits in that scanario.

Preview of the booklet. Not recomended if you have not seen the film as one of the booklet pictures is a spoiler:

Excellent news. One of the few Barry Bond scores I truly love.

Combining this release with Moonraker is genius "release strategy", if there is any.

I find myself anticipating both releases equally, to my surprise.

I am so looking forward to hesring these releases. Especially all the new music, cues cut and alternates.

We all missed the ones that Lukas did not expand 25 years ago, and we all hoped the labels would get to do more expansions. But with the years, hope started to evaporate. Then suddenly LLL got to do the David Arnold ones as 2 cd sets. From what I understand they came about through LLLs initiative, but with the neccessary participation from Arnold himself. But I speculated that these new expansions of the Barry films would not come about had there not been the 007store.com website. They need new product to sell, and have secured this 90 days exclusivity deal. So thank you to LLL and the 007 store as well.

Quick question to Neil - am I right and Lost Charm is for Saida dance?

And there is another one I'd like to know, but let's it be surprise - will we hear LALD quote in J.W. Pepper / Bond Rides Off?

Now that two more classic Bond scores have been released (and the Goldfinger reissue), what is left? And, is there an existing thread on this topic?

No, it's a brief jazz cue that plays when Bond exits her dressing room.

Not seen an existing thread, but here is some info:

The following scores are left for expansion or re-issue to potentially release by La-La Land:

Sean Connery / George Lazenby:
Dr. No
From Russia with Love
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Diamonds Are Forever

Roger Moore:
The Spy Who Loved Me
For Your Eyes Only
A View To A Kill

Timothy Dalton:
The Living Daylights
License To Kill

Pierce Brosnan:
GoldenEye

Daniel Craig:
Casino Royale
Quantum Of Solace
Skyfall
SPECTRE
No Time To Die

I don’t think we’ll get Daniel Craig expansions since they are too recent, and union fees etc. may be too high. But I can wish.

Consensus guesswork seems that for these releases we’re most likely to get scores that have anniversaries on the year they are targeted for release, though it is possible some non-anniversary releases will also come.

What we have so far is basically a miracle of circumstance, timing and talent, and the fact that it is even possible is fantastic.

Kudos to all involved.

Goldfinger also - even if a seach turned up negative recemtly - there also was a story about Kamen's Robin Hood - we must never say never wink - some day we might get lucky

Very true, but for now it seems unlikely that there will be another crack at Goldfinger since it was tackled so recently by LLLR.

I have a feeling that Dr. No and From Russia may be in the same boat as Goldfinger, but until they have been tackled I'm not going to assume.

Is there a specific reason or series of unfortunate events that resulted in the music masters for the first three James Bond films being unaccounted for?

I don't want to assume they are destroyed, lost, or gone, as everything is technically lost until it's found, but from Thunderball onward, it seems there was more care to catalog and preserve the Bond music elements.

My curious self wonders what was so different about the first three films as opposed to all the others. Bond mania took off around Goldfinger and Thunderball was a huge success for its time (even now adjusted for inflation). Was the piddly nature of the films at their start a reason why no care was taken to inventory these items?
