Please do. From what I have gathered from your writings, you are indeed qualified for rational debate. I have been impressed by your insight and willingness to pursue discussion. Not to mention your healthy, humble attitude.

The point is that I had already forgotten the tenor of that "Important Music" thread but when I clicked onto it and found myself reading the goshdarned thing--well, when I was done I could only sit back and marvel. We really got into it there! And the other night it spurred me on to put on the A Summer Place tape for another 45 minute session of listening to its purely melodic score. Anyway, I now regret not having kept every single thread when I had "really gotten into it." Only a fool doesn't invest 3 years worth of time & effort into the writing game and doesn't keep stuff that could prove very useful again down the road, specifically when old topics are resurrected in some form or another. I cringe when I think of the great discussion that evolved over Empire Of The Sun, a thread that is now forever lost, as well as a simple thread about Saving Private Ryan that took off between Ware, Swashbuckler and I into analytical stratosphere. It's gone forever as well.

By my own definition, I am a fool. Maybe this should have been emailed. Let it serve as warning. I feel like the guy who was awakened by the fire detector, ran outside and then watched all his manuscripts go up in smoke. Crap.

If there are other current threads that YOU (or anyone else, for that matter) would like to see "preserved" on my site, then you must let me know before that happens.

Your scrapbook analogy is good. In many ways, I think the threads I mentioned represent a broad view of the sentiments, personalities, moods and intellectual scope that the FSM board contains. As such, it works like a retrospective oddysey not only through the board's PRESENT history, but also slightly encompassing the sentiments, opinions and personalities that were present on PREVIOUS incarnations of the board.

So while those threads you mention are indeed and sadly lost, many of their sentiments are still present in different guises.
