A film made for IMAX and a film that's simply put on a slightly bigger screen that's "branded" as IMAX are two different things. A film has to be shot in part or in whole with IMAX cameras to ne considered an IMAX film.

True, but several of these blockbusters are that too, AFAIK. Things like AVATAR, DUNE etc. Guess one needs to read the fine print sometimes, to know which has been filmed with IMAX tech and which haven't.

But appears to me those special IMAX films and documentaries, geared for the experience (sometimes with oddball 3D effects and the like) are mostly a thing of the past? Or maybe they're just not screening them at our local IMAX here in Oslo.

True IMAX documentaries, usually nature/science related. are still very much "a thing." As always, look for them at the best science centers, not a multiplex.

And yes, this is still a thing, Thor.

T-Rex: Back to the Cretaceous was listed as a "promo" above but it did have a "commercial" release from BSX/Dragon Domain.

Anyone know what happened to the OzMan who started the thread? I miss their drawings.

Yep. The Fleet Science Center in San Diego has been showing IMAX films in its "giant dome theater" for as long as I can remember and is still going strong: https://www.fleetscience.org/shows

I'm glad some of Sam Cardon's scores are available on Apple Music (and a few on Spotify) - though not everything on the original list.

Keep those announcements and links coming, Dr. Channing!

Hi, you can find all IMAX scores here at IMAX Soundtrack Database:
http://imaxmusic.net/

It is true, that I hadn't time to make a proper update since 2018, but I hope that I will have some time. Thank you for the three digital releases above! I will add them to the database.

Jay

Hi,
I can't find more information about this promo. Do you have some information, please? I found only suite at YouTube, but it was recorded from the movie, so it is not promo.

Hi Fighter. I'm afraid I can't provide you with much info. The IMDb lists "Bugs!" as being an Imax film. Lunn himself sent me a copy of the promo.

Hi Jay,
at least photo of the front and back would be great. If it is a real promo, it should have some simple front and back cover. It is possible to send it to me? I could add it then to the database.
