NATE AND HAYES (a.k.a. SAVAGE ISLAND)– score by Trevor Jones. Limited Edition of 3000 units.

CADDYSHACK – featuring various artists such as Kenny Loggins, Journey and Johnny Mandel. Limited Edition of 3500 units.

ARMORED – This pulse pounding score to the Sony Screen Gems film currently in theaters was composed by John Murphy... The 1st 100 copies of Armored will be autographed by the composer at no extra charge. unlimited?

Why the extra 500 for Caddyshack? Is it because it's a cult classic which will sell to fans outside the film score fan audience... or does the extra 500 mean that it's going to be marked down to 14.99 or 9.99 in the future and I should wait until then to buy?

On second thoughts having done some minor research regarding "Nate and Hayes" (what a crap title - "Savage Island" is alot better) I am reconsidering - after all it is a "Trevor Jones".

Being that Caddyshack is one of my all time favorite films, obtaining the soundtrack is a given. Nate & Hayes - I haven't seen since it premiered all those years ago - however, it is Trevor Jones so I will be giving this some serious consideration.

Thanks as always LaLaLand!

Do we get a free bowl of soup with it? smile

Looks good on you, though.

These are some unexpected titles, to be sure. However. this is one watermelon purchase I'll not be making...at least until I hear some samples.

Two things regarding Caddyshack:

1. It's a our first release with Sony Special Products. They have different production terms than other companies. In the coming years we will have editions of 3500 units all the way up to 5000 units (depending on the title). Most of those titles will be part of our Expanded Archival Collection.

2. Caddyshack is geared more toward the fans of the film than you collectors. Its a straight LP reissue on cd. It contains 3 tracks of Mr Mandel's score, including his unused "GOD" track. Sorry guys, but there are some golfers out there that have been wanting this for a long time. smile

don't call me a fool, Ford just because something doesn't interest me. I love some of Trevor Jones' work but these releases (and films) just don't interest me...is that okay with you or do I need your approval?

sorry but no excitement here. frown But great for those that want them!

Hang your head in shame FOOL!

While CADDYSHACK and John Murphy score might not be your thing, TREVOR JONES's score to NATE AND HAYES is one of the best scores in his catalog and is a wonderful swashbuckling score featuring the London Symphony Orchestra.

Before you dismiss it, I'd listen to the clips, this has been one of the most requested scores from the 1980's that hasn't seen the light of day (Till now)..

And what a wonderful way too end the year..

Yay! Exciting titles that I have no interest in! My wallet thanks the gods! In all honesty, these sound like great releases for those who have been waiting for them. La-La is off to a great start for 2010!

Here's what I can tell you, for whatever it's worth -

Nate and Hayes is terrific. It's funny about Mr. Jones - never paid any attention to him at all and didn't really know much about him - I just assumed he was another one of those thumping boys who created scores that were of no interest to me. But then I heard The Dark Crystal and I thought to myself, myself you had an oops (spoo, spelled backwards) moment - this guy is good! And then I heard Nate and Hayes, a movie that I, and mostly everyone else, missed - and the music is dynamic and fun and I recommend it.

Caddyshack?! Wow, I've been interested in a CD release of this title for a long time. I almost picked up the LP about a year ago due to the lack of a CD, but I guess I'm happier now that I didn't. Even if it's just a straight re-issue of the LP, I'll be picking this one up.

I have never heard of Nate and Hayes before... perhaps I should look up this title.

An interesting way to start 2010.

It is nothing for me either but for me it is because of something else, something called MONEY. So Ford, should I hang my head in shame too? Am I a fool too because I cannot afford it? Yes, it may be a wonderful way too end the year but only if you can afford it and not everyone can, certainly not me.

WOW!! Congratulations on finally getting Nate and Hayes out there. You've done a great service to lovers of quality film music. It's one of the best of the 80's, in my mind (I'm a huge Trevor Jones fan, so perhaps I'm biased).

And Caddyshack is a lot of fun. I'm sure it will be a very strong seller for you.

What a great way to start the year indeed...

NATE & HAYES is a great score and another one we never thought would see the light of day, because of Paramount.

But here it is... Congratulations, LaLaLand Records!

This is a great early score from Trevor Jones, performed by the London Symphony and orchestrated by the great Peter Knight, as I recall.

Can't go wrong with any of these early Trevor Jones scores with his orchestrations.

I can't wait to get my hands on this release.
