No.

If you like this score, then this is the album to get. The full score sounds teriffic, I know it's in Mono sound, but boy does it sound impressive. This is an excellent release from Intrada.

After listening to this release a number of times I personally probably won't be listening to the LP version disc much again. The original score recording has got so much more music I enjoy and is just a much richer experience containing more of the dramatic cues. I also prefer the fantastic sound of it even if it is in mono. In fact recordings that are this good make me sometime question at times whether it's in mono or stereo when I listen to it and if that's the case, then being in mono is not really a detriment. I'd have been happy to only have gotten the original score recording, but I'm glad to have both just in case my listening mood changes regarding it.

"The Hawaiians" has been released as a made-on-demand DVD as part of the MGM Classics Collection.

In the UK it was called 'Master of the Islands'.

One of Mancini's best main titles.

The only reason to watch this film is Mancini's fantastic score and the beautiful performance from Tina Chen.

Still onoe of my favorite Mancini scores. The main title alone was worth the price.

I particularly like the 'Pinapple Pirates' cue.

Excellent score.
