Always great to have a brand spanking new Mancini. And I also think it's cool that all of these scores to films by the great John Frankenheimer are being released. Recently besides this new release we have gotten Seconds (probably my favorite LaLaLand release), Black Sunday, and Prophecy (the last two both from FSM). Plus, in the past FSM has released All Fall Down, The Train, Grand Prix, The Gypsy Moths, and French Connection II! Guess somebody there is a Frankenheimer fan. And let's not forget Varese and their superb release of Birdman of Alcatraz, and Prometheus for The Challenge. That Frankenheimer fella sure had good taste in music. Yavar

Mr.Mike, This neat Mancini main title was never available in any form, but the whimsical whistled theme, "Hanging Out", (for the "cement overshoe community" at the bottom of the East River in the film) was the 45 release on the film and, evidently, the compilation you mention.

I just received my copy and went bananas over it. This is the disc that Intrada had mentioned was going to be an approximation of an LP presentation followed by the remainder of the score. It was a perfect choice to premiere the idea because Mancini's albums are so iconic. Nick Redman does a great job of giving the "LP segment" that distinctive Mancini feel, but all of those dramatic moments can be heard too. Intrada has a note that they have less than 200 copies. EDIT: This was not the album they were discussing doing that with.

Just got my copy and am really enjoying it thus far. I was a little disappointed, however, that nowhere in the notes or track listing, unless I missed it, was there an indication of who sang the song "Easy, Baby." I imagine this was prominently listed in the credits of the film and, for such an otherwise thorough release, I don't understand why Intrada omitted this info. According to IMDb, Jim Gilstrap sang "Easy, Baby." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Gilstrap
