Ordered! I so marked out to the inclusion of the Carolco theme!
You don’t seem to want to accept the fact you’re dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who’s the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who’s been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Vietnam his job was to ...dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well Rambo was the best.
I mean, the Varese release has pretty much every bit of music (ok, maybe a few seconds missing, but so what), and they expect me to pay $20 for TWO versions of the EXACT SAME MUSIC?
Can't wait for the impending announcement of Poltergeist as well.
Oh and I've just been listening to the samples. The sound quality is such a vast improvement its almost as if the tracks available originally were taken from mono masters. As for the new material, well, one track stood out for all the wrong reasons.
Theme From First Blood [Pop Orchestra Version]
Whilst I am a big admirer of this score, I'm not a fan of Disco, even when Goldsmith did it. In fact I cannot stand Disco music nor Disco styled film scores. I've said it before, I'm saying it again.
Thank goodness this horrid rendition of the main theme was dropped from the final film. It would date the film shamefully today.
This definitive release of First Blood is not limited and we hope you'll join us in celebrating Intrada's 25th anniversary with this new sound to an old friend and an important score both to Intrada's legacy and to Intrada's founder, Doug Fake.
Glad to hear this, as I'm pretty much cash-strapped right now and will have to wait to get it. But otherwise, so ordered!
I am glad to see FIRST BLOOD as an unlimited release. I thought more music was missing than what was on the original release(s), but having improved sound will make this a must. I still marvel at what a year 1982 was for Goldsmith.
Thank goodness this isn't a limited release, because I'm totally tapped-out at the moment. I shall purchase it when the neccesary funds become available, however.
