Hmmm.... I picked mine up on Amazon but as far as I know it's still shipping in December. Would mine still include the extra disc of music, or did I screw myself by trying to cheap out on shipping?

Lucky me I canceled my order in Amazon at time.

There are two editions:

Amazon is going to sell the regular edition (the one in the right) so your box will not probably have this extra and signed CD since Richard Kraft wrote:

THE DANNY ELFMAN & TIM BURTON 25TH ANNIVERSARY MUSIC BOX
COLLECTOR'S EDITION
BONUS DISC

Created EXCLUSIVELY for the now sold-out Numbered, Limited Collector's Edition of 1000, this BONUS DISC will feature special musical content. Only those who already purchased the COLLECTOR'S EDITION will receive this rare 17th Disc as an addition to the set's 16 CD collection.

This is all very fascinating, and makes me glad I'm not much of an Elfman fan. I'll wait for the solo releases of PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE and BATMAN down the road... I'm sure I'll have my regrets later on that I don't have a $30-a-disc box set with a whirligig on the top.

To quote Alec Baldwin in Beetlejuice: "This keeps getting weirder and weirder."

No problem. I'll have plenty of CDs to tide me over till February.

And would this be a bad time to ask for the rest of the artwork (CDs 1 - 16) in hi-rez? big grin (runs away)

They obviously had long enough knowledge of a "delay" to produce a "bonus" CD in the meantime, plus sleeve art, to persuade folks not to cancel their orders over the next three months.

There's something smelly about this whole project. A vanity project that the subject (Elfman) didn't even particularly want. Ridiculously over-priced for what amounts to a bunch of bonus tracks that, evidently, weren't included on the original soundtracks because they weren't good enough...? An extras disc that springs out of nowhere as a bribe to force customers to purchase from vendor A rather than vendor B. Signed no less.

I love Elfman and I have all the albums represented here. That's good enough!

You screwed yourself. Welcome to soundtrack collecting!

Limited Collector's Edition was sold out. But Regular Edition now can be pre-ordered in http://www.burtonelfman.com/

The "Regular" edition is $500 too? Cool! LOL

I'm still very happy to have passed on this. Regardless of bonus disc's and autographs, $500 is just too much for me to pay for this, particularly when theres so much other great stuff to listen to.

Surely it's only $30 a disc if you count the 250 page book, USB drive, DVD and box as having no value.

SPeaking for myself I am looking forward to the (now 17) CDs, the book, and the DVD. The drive, while nice, won't get used as I will do my own lossless rips from the discs, and I have no idea what I will do with the oversized box. But even so it still amounts to less than $30 a disc - with the book & DVD it probably amounts to closer to $20-22 a disc. I pay more than that for some discs from Intrada / La-la land / Varese.

So if I buy it now my box won't be Limited, numbered, signed, contain the extra CD and still I had to pay the same $500 as if I've ordered the Limited Edition a few days ago? Makes sense.... O.o

We're talking about $500! If you buy a $500 Collectors Box you could expect that it would contain all of the CDs including the new signed bonus disc (customers who order now are also affected by the delay until February). If not than make the regular edition cheaper. Sorry, I'm a big Elfman fan but I couldn't afford the box right away. I was hoping the 1000 run lasts a bit longer until I've got the money together. But if I order the Box next month after my next paycheck arrives I won't get the signes bonus disc and still have to pay the same price. For me thats a kind of rip-off.

Oh, come on. Be reasonable. It's not Warner Bros. fault that the set sold out. That's why they call it a *limited edition*. You'll still be getting what everyone else initially paid for. And there isn't anything wrong with making up for a delay by providing customers who bought the set directly from the main site with a bonus disc and an autograph at no extra cost. That's pretty epic in customer satisfaction.

Back to the bonus disc, I do have some concerns.

1. Will the material on the Bonus Disc also be on the Flash Drive?
2. Why have Mr. Elfman sign the CD case when he can sign something a bit more presentable, like the big linear note book? Was it because his schedule didn't match the time frame when the books would be made and put into the box for release? Or how about the certificate of authenticity? I can frame that!
3. What's on the bonus disc?!

I would expect the price of this thing to escalate. That said, the signed disc by the elf man himself, is almost worth more to me than any certificate of authenticity. Woo-hoo!

drivingmissdaisy just had a heart attack!!

I got the same email as well, man thanks so much Richard and Danny!! I can't wait to get that goodie!! Woo HOOOOOO

My two cents...

Guys, we know that projects can be delayed for a VARIETY of reasons. It happens, it's the business you know. Most of us know that. Artwork approval CD approval's sit on peoples desks for months and months. It is NOT high on Spielberg's priority list to give the final OK to some little Amazing Stories CD's. No slam against those, I own them all and LOVE them. We all know that things get delayed, it's a true bummer, but it happens a lot. Just looking at this HUGE box set, it's, I think, the first of it's kind, being so big, so I can't even BEGIN to wonder about the problems of creating something so big.

I'm not surprised it was delayed and I also think of what they are doing is a VERY nice gesture to us. They could have said, sorry it will ship in February, Merry Christmas, but I think they really wanted to give us something for our wait and then to have Danny get carpal tunnel as he signs all 1000 is of course super cool!

Course, most on here know me as a pretty positive guy and I for one can say thanks guys for sending out this disc and thanks for Danny for signing it. You didn't have to, but since you did, your ace's in my book. Thanks for the hard work you've all put into this!

You're right, it's a nice gesture to hand out this bonus disc as some kind of compensation for the 2 month delay. But why only for the first 1000 customers who bought it directly from WB? Customers who oder it now pay the same price, must also wait until Febraury to receive their box and in the end they get less for their money. You spend that much money and still you miss a that special CD. That's why I've decided not to order the box. Either all or nothing. It's like if I miss the first minutes of a movie...I rather miss the whole movie than to watch an uncomplete film.

They're right in wanting to do something special for the limited edition box, and although asking the same price for the regular one is a bit... odd, that's not too bad either. But:

WHY NOT TELL US about the extra bonus disc and the signature?

People who have this on order at Amazon (as well as people who were waiting a bit to scrape the money together) missed out on this because of that. There was no reason whatsoever to hold back this information.
