The Score's the thing! The source music and songs, however novel, wouldn't be listenend to as much. So no complaints from me for the score only - especially if it will put it out on the market earlier!

@marcgothic: Davy Crockett? Did I miss something? Please explain.

PS
Tadlow has a swanky new website ... let me know if anything doesn't work???

James - The new website is a vast improvement on the old one. Very elegant and user friendly.

I liked the source music from the film, the Cossack drinking songs were very entertaining. I wouldn't mind it if they were included. However, given the logistics that you've described and the fact that I seem to be the only one who would miss them, I think the source music may not be worth the additional effort to record. I can live without them, and wouldn't have wanted them in the body of the score anyway.

That said, this is my favorite Franz Waxman score, so I am most excited to hear this new record!

I've never been a fan of source music, especially the trite jazz that so often eminates from juke boxes in movie diners or bars. While I like the Polish Christmas carols in "Taras" I can live without any of the source cues.

I'm really anticipating this release!

Can't wait for Taras Bulba. When can we expect TB to be released?

Have you made any plans on your next recording? Quo Vadis? Duel in the Sun? IMHO the greatest re recording is your El Cid.

Much success with Waxman's masterpiece!

If Quo Vadis is next, which I'm really hoping, I'd love if the concert suite was recorded and included in the bonuses. The one that features Hail Nero, Romanza, Arabesque, and Quo Vadis Dominae. The suite really is it's own beast!

For me, I want just the score and a beer! Thanks.
That's why we love you, James!

I'm sorry to be off-topic but let us know if it's true this rumor about the rerecording of Poledouris' CONAN THE DESTROYER and ADVENTURES OF CONAN by TADLOW.

The Bach Inventions used as source cues for inside Jabba's court weren't included on the Jedi releases and those CDs are promoted as complete. Maybe Williams didn't want to share composing credit with JS Bach? wink.

Besides, we can hear those inventions on other recordings (albeit not played on Yahama DX-7s as they were in Jedi). I'm sure we can track down the Taras Bulba source carols on other recordings

In this situation I think the cost outweighs the benefit. Thank you for considering our opinions and for the great work you're doing.

Brian, I assume that "Davy Crockett" is a reference to Tadlow's brilliant rerecording of Tiomkin's THE ALAMO from last year.

Was any of the non-score material we're talking about composed by Waxman? If so, then it would be a shame to miss out on it. However, I understand the financial considerations. If we at least have the complete score, then I will be overjoyed.

Bernstein recorded/rerecorded Kings of the Sun. It is included in the Bernstein Box from FSM.
As for Tarus Bulba I'm in for it with or without the source songs.
