I´m ordering this the minute it becomes available. One of my alltime favourites - and it´s in desperate need of being remastered. I won´t even mind if there are no new tracks whatsoever, most important to me is the sound. It never sounded good in the first place so I´ll hope for the best!

@Trent: Wouldn't that be Arnold?

I'll never find the original post, but MV of La La Land pretty much outright said on this very board that "Batman Forever" would be coming from them.

And again, not to be a downer, but the rights to "Batman + Robin" are controlled separately, since that score was never released on CD at all. So it could happen, but don't assume the pattern will continue after the first three "Batman" feature scores came from La La.

Another surprise blown. Well to be fair, remember when Silvestri blew the surprise about ID-4 he stated he'd rather have the composer blow the surprise rather than some random poster like us.

Silvestri scoring ID4? That'd be interesting!

Ah shit, yes sorry. I should be smacked for that one.

Jay I meant Arnold, not Silvestri. Sorry my mind is not functioning at 100% peak efficiency today.

Cool news, but its not really a big surprise. I cannot find the thread, but I remember awhile ago MV said (worded differently) that he planned on releasing new/expanded versions of all the early Batman scores at sometime in the future. Fast-forward to the present, and LLL already has 3 of them under their batbelts, with 2 more to go. I'm sure its only a matter of time before Batman and Robin comes out too. smile

That's it. We invade every studio, ware house and composer's house in two weeks and "recover" every single piece of music we can. I've got the Imperial Missile Boats and Gun Boats at the ready. With any luck, the long-legged ESB AT-STs will be on hand since I destroyed the ugly long faced ROTJ AT-STs.

He didn't say "early" Batman scores specifically, but did say "all" so that would include the Zimmer/Howard scores as well. Interest in those being irrelevant, they do qualify.

"Batman and Robin" is really the one major exception here.

Found the quote from MV:

http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=67446&forumID=1&archive=0

March 30, 2010: "As some of you may have guessed by now I am a huge Batman fan and will not stop until ALL Batman music is out under the LLL label. lol Plus this gives people a chance to pick up the cd that may have missed out on the original FSM version.

As someone who loves the existing album (it was my very first purchase), I'm anxious to see what could be missing.

The album used a lot of different takes and different mixes and had cues assembled into unique suites. I love that album, it's one of my favorites. There is plenty of good material not on the original album though.

Ah, but then there's this thread, in which I got a cookie. (Well, I still haven't actually received said cookie.)

This is one of the view instances I have to agree with Thor. Personally, I'm more than happy with the existent album. But I'm happy for everyone who is interested in this new edition.

Any chance we could see the following cues:

1m2 pt I Arkham Asylum (not sure if that one even was ever recorded)
4m6 Circus (all versions)
7m6 pt I - alt.
11m3 Happy Halloween alt.
14m4/14m4R
9m5/9m5R Batman Entrance
9m6/9m6R Batman Phoenix
6m1/6m1R Obligatory Car Chase

It'd awesome if you could include different sections like strings and the rest of the orchestra separately for 9m6 Batman Phoenix kinda like in the original album (Fledermausmarschmusik with that wagnerian fortissimo strings section introduction).

Haven't you received the masters with cue sheet (incl. all the takes/sections etc. indicated on it) from Mr. Bille at WB.?
