Will any other online retailers sell "Heidi" - or just SAE? Thanks.

This obscure website is selling it:

Yes, I noticed that in the original post - thanks! Should have been more specific - US retailers. Thanks smile

4 pages from the Heidi booklet - including a glimpse at John Takis' liner notes - as well as a complete list of the "sub-track-titles" the team came up with to label the individual cues within tracks (Williams original cue titles are unknown) are now EXCLUSIVELY available on the main page of JWFAN.COM

Ah, Heidi. Not too many people will remember the controversy that happened when this movie was shown in 1968.

This is great n' all, but I wish I was re-buying expanded editions of DRACULA, TOM SAWYER and THE RARE BREED by John Williams (not to mention STORY OF A WOMAN, THE SECRET WAYS, DADDY'S GONE-A-HUNTING, SGT RYKER and THE PLAINSMAN, even though I just did) rather than things like THE FURY, ROSEWOOD or HOME ALONE.
I know, I know, if the labels could get those other titles they would, but I'm airing my gripe anyway!

I agree totally. I have no interest in Williams expansions of any kind as long as they already have great soundtrack albums to begin with (even though it's obviously good for everyone else to get an album of HEIDI, which has been long OOP and hard to get).

My interest is solely and squarely on PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED scores, and it's been a long time since we've had that for Williams. Someone mentioned NIGHTWATCH from 2011. That might be it.

Nice about the Morricone!

I wish the other one was Ortolani or Bacalov like it was suggested by the hint.... maybe next time

But since Capitol released the original LP, they have rights for any LP/tape/CD whatever for that title, and they clearly didn't license the Label X CD, making the new Quartet CD the first officially licenesed CD of Heidi music.

Which again notes the different between "licensed" and "legal". Around here, it seems everyone seems to want the first even when the second is there...

(which is annoying because even the mods are quick to kill threads for 'talking about boots'. It's so weird that people here have such problems with it where most of the rest of the net celebrates labels who release music the license holders won't bother with and/or is OOP, but still legal)

It's outside this forum's purpose to debate what law should be, but there is a reason to want licensed even when legal exists. Evidently, the Harkit "Dr. No" is legal, but it is definitely not licensed. Meaning Harkit had no access to masters. But legal unlicensed CDs like that on the market discourage our labels from trying to release those same scores in licensed form, where they would have access to masters, artwork, and the like. And that would be better.

I will probably just stick with my Cerberus lp, since it has pretty good sound, but I will probably buy the Williams HEIDI score, since I missed earlier releases.

But if you do not have either, this looks like a great opportunity. The Morricone, especially, is just gorgeous music.

I wonder if Quartet will be including a video of the crucial final minutes of the football playoff game that were blacked out when NBC cut to HEIDI instead of showing the game to completion... Thousands of football fans in the New York area might buy such a set just for the joy of bending, spindling, folding and mutilating the soundtrack in memory of that infamous, classic moment in US TV history!

Kind of surprised that Heidi hasn't sold out yet. How is it doing Quartet?

I was thinking the same thing, I wouldn't think it would last more than 2-3 days, tops. So, how's it selling?
