Season two has more than enough good scoring to make it difficult to even do a three CD set.

Alternatively, knowing their Broughton love, they could cover the rest of the pilot score (or at least include more cues).

Some of the clips John Debney has posted on social media are just BEGGING to be heard in their full glory! This is film scoring going back to the 80s/90s

I agree that season 2 scoring is even better than season 1, and would LOVE for it to get a three disc set. But at this point I'd even be grateful for another two disc set...

Take it for what it's worth, but a user at another board posted today:

"A relatively small but important company involved with the show received notice today. Doesn't mean Season 4 won't happen, but means the studio is not considering it right now. Expected."

I imagine season 4 depends on how popular season 3 is at Hulu. I don't think season 3 would be happening at Hulu if they hadn't seen good viewer numbers on the first two seasons which they have available for streaming...

What a shame. From what I heard of it, the scoring of season two was phenomenal, and yet nothing released. WTF?

Perhaps interest will renew once the 3rd season begins airing? Sounds to me like they already had a release put together, and then it was impacted by the move to Hulu. Either way, we've gotta keep interest up!

I love the smaller, more intimate and character driven episodes in this series.
The one wherein they find the time capsule and Molloy fires up the old mobile phone and the girl's life via holodeck is Star Trek-like at it's finest.

Its my understanding they rebuilt the Orville sets from the ground up and they're massive. I'd be surprised if they put that much money into expanding the production with the intent of making just one more season.

Are we getting a digital release of the season 2 soundtrack? Or has Disney nixed it?

I would guess Disney nixed it.
LLL had already announced it, but then the Fox/Disney takeover happened, and LLL said it wasn't coming.
And since Disney hardly do CD score releases anymore (even their biggest animated hit film - Frozen 2 - couldn't get a score CD), I reckon the only chance of a CD release is if the good folks at Intrada can negotiate a deal with those evil bastards at Disney.

Oops, sorry JTW, I just noticed you were asking about a digital release.
That's anyone's guess, but more likely with Disney.

Yep, I'll take digital as it seems CD releases are becoming less likely with each passing day.

What? CD's becoming less likely?

How the hell am I going to make my mixed/best of tape to listen to in the car?

Really strange. Disney is all about merchandising but ironically not in the world of soundtracks. Not even Star Wars. Why?

Same with their excellent park music. If the masses don’t want it, Disney won’t sell it.

They can't even be bothered to continue with their Legacy Collection soundtracks, which is for their signature IP.

May I suggest biting the bullet and springing for the Japanese release, despite the over-packaging?

Now, supposed somebody else has said that some of these FX companies had a three-year contract (how does the general; public even know this?), so it's not a surprise. We'll see.

In regards to the Orville sets rumor, I have to say: WHY?

If it's not broken, why re-build it? Bigger does not equal better. So forth and so on with more old phrases.

Hey Cindy Lover, did you spring for the 3 disc edition?
If so, where from (and did you get hit by customs)?
