Dunkirk doesn't make sense for WW84 though. That is what makes a great composer right? You can adapt to different movie genres and styles. WW84 is perfect for that type of film.

No, who said anything about a DUNKIRK-type score for WW84? I'm saying I prefer those kinds of projects from Zimmer these days. DUNKIRK, INTERSTELLAR, INCEPTION, that kind of stuff. In fact, I thought last year's REBUILDING PARADISE was an overlooked score that was more up my Zimmer alley, even if it obviously wasn't on the level of the classics I just mentioned. That's him doing more "his thing". The 80s orchestral pastiche stuff in WW84 was fun and interesting as an experiment (i.e. fun to hear HIM trying that), but if he's going to do pastiche, then I'd prefer he'll rather just do it of his former self.

I'll have to listen out for some more 90s Zimmer shout-outs in the WW84 score, just to annoy Thor some more smile

And me too smile

Feel free to give examples.

I don't recall, I think it was near the end of the soundtrack. I'll have to listen to it again.
And of course its not an exact copy but I can hear the similarities.

Edit: You can hear it in the very first track, Themyscira and in Truth.

The usuage of John Murphy's "Sunshine" cue...did they just track the actual cue or did they remake it?
I thought they just "borrowed" the original, but in the featurette with Zimmer about the score (iTunes extras) you can see the orchestra playing it. Or at least I think they are... anyone knows?

Btw, I am still obsessed with this score and I listen to it everyday! It just gets better and better for each listen!
Dont think I've enjoyed a movie score this much for years! big grin

Was there ever a pressed CD of this score in any region of the world?
And is this the real art work!? Its looks more 70s psychedelic than 80s Fantasy.

Here are some alternative cover art. I always use the original but some people prefer choices.

Yes, there is! A 2 CD release. I have it smile
Its CD-R, but imo, it looks quite official/real with a great booklet with pics and liner notes etc...
(I was never bothered by CD-Rs really, but know a lot of people in here is...)

Indeed there is! I wasnt planning on actually buying the movie since its also streaming for free on HBO, but as soon as I saw there was an iTunes exclusive score featurette I pressed the "BUY NOW" button, lol!
Its only about 10 minutes long, but it was great to watch. Mostly of talking with Hans and the director. But showed some of the orchestra and in the studio as well.

CD is a factory made item, professionally manufactured with high quality materials and endures much more in time.

CD-R is amateur made, recorded on a computer burning machine with lower quality materials and a lot of flaws.

So... CD is a collectable item, but CD-R is just shit.

I've got CD-R's from the 90s that still play fine, while some pressed discs from the same decade don't.
So that is a bit of a myth.

I don't use CD-Rs much anymore, but when I do I use Verbatim archival CD-Rs, which are rated for a 100-year lifespan.

Just a heads up. I finally got my copy. They are indeed pressed discs. I guess the CD-Rs are if you order them from Amazon directly? I bought mine from Importcds through Amazon.

Oh I'm talking about the 2 CD version.

I ordered mine directly from importcds and it's a CD-R. Even the product page at importcds indicates: Manufactured on Demand) But it's definitely a good-looking CD-R with quality booklet.
