Watching Faster tonight 2010 action thriller with Dwayne Johnson. The professional hitman's mobile goes off with....theme from The Good The Bad the Ugly!
Clearly a link to Angel Eyes's "When im paid...I always see the job through..."
For uk viewers, Talking Pictures channel has a rare showing of Sidney Sheldon's Bloodline at 9.05pm this saturday, score by Ennio of course. Its widely regarded as a tacky, poor film but a chance to hear the score in place.

MORE MORRICONE, a full album dedicated to the Maestro (recorded in France in 2019) has been released by two jazzmen, Giovanni Ceccarelli (piano and other instruments) and Ferruccio Spinetti (double bass, etc) together with a guest singer (whistler) called Chrystel Wautier on 5 tracks:
I bought it yesterday and find the overall result really superb. Mind that Morricone specialist Massimo Cardinaletti is thanked for "his precious suggestions in choosing the repertoire" and indeed, they didn't relay only on classics only but even picked up for instance Ricatto from La Piovra 2. Among the sounds they featured, I for instance like the idea to use the toy piano in INDAGINE SU UN CITTADINO... and in The Braying Mule. Highly recommended. Enjoy!
A release of lesser-known works is most welcome but I shall have to pass ... I already have the scores listed, notwithstanding the alternates, edits, etc. I have, too often, bought a new release of a score merely to find the "new" tracks are very similar to those previously released.
Looking down the list, it's interesting to see three tracks from an unfinished score (film not completed): Lui per Lei (1971) as four tracks (19 mins approx.) were released interspersed with the score for Senza sapere niente di lei (1969) although only the track with the film's title appears to match, the other three tracks thereon being Stato confusionale and In un ricordo #1, #2.
Looking at the two tracks from La Smagliatura (1975), neither title matches those from the released CD (Hexacord label), etc.
I note that the information states 7 never before released tracks but it didn't, as far as I could see, indicate which ones. I look forward to hearing what buyers of this release think of the choices made ... so good not seeing the usual popular ones. Mitch
Simon Mayo mentioned this release on his show yesterday morning and played Macchie Solari.
A typical and very nice EM track (probably tr.22 from the DigitMovies expanded release) ... I bet he wouldn't have played any of the Passaggio Secondo, Terzo, Quarto tracks had any of these been included on this new release!
