All the Egyptian source music in TSWLM appears to have been written for the film. The Greek source music in FYEO appears to be licensed, but Conti wrote the ice rink and casino source music. I thought Conti composed his own "ethnic atmosphere" source music for the Greek street. And in any case, I'm sure it was newly recorded for the film. There's no was it was a needle drop.

The Greek source music listed on the cue sheet is "Zorba Takes a Holiday" and "Aliti M'Ipes Mia Vradia." If Conti wrote "ethnic atmosphere" music, it got mistakenly listed as "underscore" rather than source music. (No individual cue titles for Conti's score on the cue sheet; everything is "Underscore" or specific source music.) Good info, thanks Jason. I checked those two songs out on Youtube, and they are NOT the Bill Conti "Greek street atmosphere" music I was thinking of. When Bond and Melina are threading their way through a crowd while eating a street-bought snack, for instance, the film is playing ethnic-sounding source music by Bill Conti. And it works brilliantly to create a sense of place. If "Zorba Takes a Holiday" and "Aliti M'Ipes" can be heard in the film at all, they are probably very brief or pretty much buried in the sound mix. I've never noticed them.

There are a handful of source cues in Conti’s written scores and sketches that aren’t on the cue sheets, though I suspect they weren’t recorded. None of them are “ethic atmospheric” nor Greek. The casino source cues noted on the cue sheets were not present in the scores. Well, those are in addition to the ethnic music I was referring to. And my only point was that Conti wrote the cues.

Zorba Takes A Holiday is in the film at around an hour when Bond and Melina are "shopping for the crew", choosing melons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlROoYKLles (after about 20 sec)

If La La Land can do more Bond scores, I hope their liner notes for the MWTGG include sexy pictures of Britt Ekland. Their liner notes for TSWLM should include sexy pictures of Caroline Munro, Valerie Leon, Barbara Bach in her red swimsuit from the LP cover and the Egyptian Harem Girls. Their Moonraker liner notes should include sexy pictures of Leila Shenna, Corinne Clery, Emily Bolton, Anne Lonnberg and the other Brazilian Pyramid Girls, the Carnival in Rio dancers and the sexy Space Station Women. Their FYEO liner notes should include sexy pictures of Lynn-Holly Johnson and the Poolside Girls. Their Octopussy liner notes should include sexy pictures of Tina Hudson and the Octopussy Circus Girls. Their AVTAK liner notes should include sexy pictures of Mary Stavin and the Party Guest Girls. Their LTK liner notes should include sexy pictures of Talisa Soto and Jeannine Bisignano.

I know it's old hat by now - but because I just watched the blu-ray of 'Octopussy' last night, I'll chime in. I do wish the great film music archaeologists dig up the complete score some day. There are some wondrous cues. Especially that 'Arrival in India' piece. Wouldn't it be great to have James Fitzpatrick do a complete re-recording of this and 'Moonraker'?! Never Say Never Again.

If La La Land can do AVTAK one day I hope they include the film version of the vocal of "California Girls" by Gidea Park and The Beach Boys. It's an essential part of this soundtrack as well.

The music when Bond is fighting Chang in Venice is Leoncavallo's "Vesti la giubba" and most of the Carnival in Rio source music is "Dawn of the Gods" by Renato Verdade. If La La Land can someday do Moonraker, I hope they pay the licensing costs to include both pieces of music on their release.

If La La Land can do LTK, I hope they include Michael Kamen's, Eric Clapton's and Vic Flick's new version of the Bond Theme that was recorded for a TV commercial that would also cross-promote the movie. I also hope they include Kamen's recording of Beethoven's "Für Elise" for this title as well. Does La La Land have the technical know-how to produce fold-out liner notes for their Bond titles that include the film's poster similar to what Rykodisc did with Octopussy and the Living Daylights? Can they afford to do this? I would prefer it if they released them in this format.

Can they afford to do this? I hope not. Those things are harder to handle, read, refold, and keep in mint condition. At least, they are to me. And in anybody's book, they are brutal to scan so you can read the notes at will without digging out the CD. I hate those fold-out inserts.

I hope not. Those things are harder to handle, read, refold, and keep in mint condition. Well, the moment you ripped off the shrink wrap, "mint" was no longer the condition. Then you played the CD and read the thing at least once. As long as you didn't rip it, enjoy the notes.
