A gag but also one of several indications that Marty didn't simply change the future but is actually at the end of Part 1 living in an alternate reality of the original 1985.

And we also hear Mr. Peabody shout "You killed my pine!!," and it was Peabody who according to the Doc had a "crazy idea, about breeding pine trees."

There's a similar gag in BTTF III, when Marty (who adopts the name Clint Eastwood back in 1885) drives the train to his apparent demise, then returns to 1985 and you see that the ravine the train plunged into a century earlier has been re-named "Eastwood Ravine". smile

The newest entry in Doug's Corner sheds light on the amount of quantities pressed for the Back to the Future release.

http://store.intrada.com/s.nl/it.I/id.10/.f?category=-102

"We get a lot of letters asking about the remaining quantities of BACK TO THE FUTURE.

We originally negotiated a special arrangement with the union to allow 10,000 pressings so we could get copies into as many hands as possible. Happily, the union has now become extremely helpful in making arrangements like this, enabling releases of all manner of previously unobtainable soundtracks. Regarding BACK TO THE FUTURE, I'm happy to say we've sold just under 6000 copies to date."

That's maybe the most generous story I've ever heard about the music industry. Good show.

BLACK SUNDAY is also 10,000. Definitely a trend I'd say...

I don't know that two makes a trend, but that is definitely a great story and hopefully BTTF's success will allow similar deals to become more common!

The only drawback is that my liner note booklet skips pages 11-14, oddly enough, they seem to have not been included in printing - anyone else have this problem?

It's funny - but my booklet has those pages twice. And I'm not joking here, I took off these pages since they are in the middle of the booklet. At first I thought it was a pressing error and looked it up here, am I the only one?

Was this released?

Yes, though some people are having difficulty accepting that their Holy Grail has been released and now they have little to live for.
