One point I wanted to make last night concerned Vendetta, the 60s BBC series about a Mafia hunter. The first two episodes had, in addition to the two Barry themes we know, several score cues. These were very much in Barry's style, one cue set at an airport had a Goldfinger vibe as in the version at the beginning of 'Oddjob's Pressing Engagement'. Whether Barry composed these cues we may never know. It could have been library music but wasn't used again after the initial episodes. 36 episodes of Vendetta were made but 29 are feared lost.

John Barry was once in 58 Dean street and a girl was looking at Walkabout LP. the bootleg. Staff were worried that he might say something but he went up to the girl and said "I'll sign it if you like?" And she said "Who the f*** are you?" Looks like I’ll have to copyright this story-as its mine (was a lot more bizarre when it happened in front of me) Did he sign it, Dave?

Sorry to be a pain guys and forgive me being a party poop. Can I make a request? One of the things we agreed when we started doing these is we wouldn't record them, so people can speak freely. If people think what they say is being minuted and published, they might not feel so free. So would it be okay if we don't minute the meetings? I think it's fine to talk about what topics came up, which scores we talked about, etc., and I think it's okay to share stfuff that came up in the meeting as long as the speaker who input it is okay with that. Forgive me folks—entirely my fault for not mentioning it as the meeting attendance grew. Cheers

Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Woolston. Without it, I would have missed the event. Nice group of people. Pleasant atmosphere.

Loved the Derek-person anecdotes. Met plenty of "Dereks" in the sports world. Usually bark much worse than bite. Derek was always very pleasant to me. He had a notebook which contained details of the LPs he could import. Arel treasure trove. On one occasion I bought The Deep (blue vinyl), A Man Called Horse, The Blue Max and Once Upon A Time In Th West............ On one occasion a young man was looking through a rack when Derek said "Don't bother looking at those, they're much too expensive for you" !!

I have a question for the meeting organizer. Is the link available to non FSM members who lurk here but are obviously unable to comment? To put it simply, can the public view it and join? I’m just curious. Thanks. It's an open invitation, but you have to register to attend. Also, anyone entering the meeting enters a waiting room first so I can see who's trying to join before I let them in. These measures are to stop trolls gatecrashing the meeting. Not that this problem is likely, but some people scan public forums for open meetings for the precise purpose of gatecrashing them. It's a niche but not unknown phenomenon. Once in, everyone in the meeting has the chance to see who else is in the meeting. Cheers
