Sorry folks. Got the expanded edition, my initial feeling - way back - is confirmed, score is just average. Noisy orchestral score, sorry to say (and I hate saying this about Maestro Horner) The highlight is "sled ride", without question, as well as Tir Asleen. Overrated score from the maestro. Have you tried consulting the bones?

One of my favorites by Horner. I had the original album for decades. It sustained so many scratches, I had to buy another one. It also got me in trouble in my dorm back in the day because I had been playing it so loud. The expanded, remastered release is epic and absolute perfection.

This came recently and I'm enjoying it. I'm curious- willow's primary theme 'is loosely derived from' thracian harvest song, Mir Stanke Le. Is that a Horner first, a credit?

I think It's a more polished effort(performance & recording) compared to khan and Krull

Absolutely marvelous!! Finally got my CD and have been listening to the complete presentation several times. I have always loved this gargantuan symphonic score a lot, but now even more. Especially great I find the "Death Dogs" cue. I just enjoy how Horner used some similar musical themes for similar characters (in this case the dogs sound a bit like Aliens, or Wolfen, even Wolf Totem). Great stuff!

I just watched WILLOW with my two youngest to prepare for the upcoming Disney+ series. If there was ever a perfect time to finally release the expanded WILLOW, this is it! Was there a lot of interesting material missing? I agree it's a good score, but the old Virgin album played quite well as it was. Just wondering... it's been decades since I've seen the movie. WILLOW is vintage Horner. Well, the answer to the question for me in this case is a simple, unqualified "yes". WILLOW's original album release was always a good album, and LaLaLand has now just made it even better. All of the extra cues are great music in and by themselves, and they flesh out the score. I never had a problem with the original WILLOW album, but LaLaLand's new release is an upgrade and improvement. The musical flow is now even better, and the musical architecture of the entire score is better revealed. Clearer a top expansion. I know fans will get this anyway, but if you are on the fence: it's highly worth it.

My only, small, gripe is the two sorce type cues placed where they are. Other than that, stellar.
