All of the dummies forsaking proper film composition, well, they never listened to most of this. Or Jupiter.

I just noticed John Carter has quietly gone out of print and prices are starting to climb.

Still hoping for a complete score release...

Intrada? Any interest in that?

Pretty please? I'd be that Futurama meme. "Shut up and take my money!"

That said, there does seem to be one brand new copy on eBay for about $55. Not bad considering a new copy is usually in the triple digits.

Love JOHN CARTER. I'd buy it again in expanded form in a heartbeat.

I'd also love to have an expanded JUPITER ASCENDING someday. The film versions were quite different from the album versions.

I don't want to watch either film ever again but both scores are wonderful.

For me ..one of the best scores in the last years.
It has this 80 ies magical cinematic feeling to it..like it has been composed during the time of
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK..THE DARK CRYSTAL etc.

Too bad the movie sucked.

Interesting people don’t like this movie....I thought the movie was pretty entertaining. My kids and I love it. Music is definitely fantastic!

I liked the movie too. It was fine..not great. But the budget was such that people got excited about it becoming one of the biggest flips ever. The effects of those flying ships were amazing. The score beautiful. Jupiter Ascending on the other hand was unwatchable.

Given this score’s awful sound quality, I’d be up for a re-recording!

John Carter like The Lone Ranger was a mishandled affair. Perfectly good movies wrongly 'disowned'. Why anyone, especially a company like Disney, would get cold feet AFTER they'd spent millions on these movies is anyone's guess.

Of course there's always even bigger misfires like The Avengers. Based on the UK tv series one that is, not the superheroes thingy..

"John Carter" is, hands down, my favorite score of the 2000s.

I love Giacchino anyway, but this one is truly very special. I listen to it often.

Have been enjoying watching "John Carter" on TV lately. One channel seems to air it weekly (I don't recall which one). I have DirectTV.

I very much admire the film. It's extremely well-produced and acted.

John Carter is my favorite Giacchino score, particularly Dejah Thoris’s theme. I’m a bit less fond of the film than Ron but I’ve seen worse. The production design was wonderful and the execution of the Tharks as characters was terrific. The film was designed to establish a franchise and the hints of where that would go leave me disappointed that we’ll never get to see more.

I’d be up for an expanded reissue if anyone was crazy enough to attempt it.

Its an extremely average film which had some guy called Kitsch in the lead role.Cant realy remember much about it.The score is ok but far from Giaccinos best.

I remember the Kitch's pecs.

I also remember a good deal of expense thrown at admittedly impressive spectacle.

And then there's Gia's score which, as per usual, led you to believe it was building to something substantive, but then, as per usual, simply devolved into pastiche.

As far as I'm concerned the film suffers from a few fundamental missteps:

1. Vague, one-note antagonists.
2. The white saviour and rote "empowerment" narratives.
3. The (obligatory) heteronormative romance between two actors lacking the required on-screen chemistry.
