Thank you all. I do this all for fellow lovers of the music. The TV series threads for October: It just wouldn't be October without Mark Snow, and I got two from his resume that fit October -- the month of Halloween and scares, thrills, and chills. Possibly also a third TV series from decades ago (not a Snow series). Nothing planned for November -- I may just take off early this year for TV series.

Curtesy of a fellow FSM'er, a "Wheels" suite will be next year. I already have half of next year covered for Morton Stevens suites (one a month, every month from January to November). I have, I think, five slots open, so anybody with suggestions... Also need Mike Post suggestions., I have about half of next year covered for him, too, so there are openings.

This week's suites. Norman's Awesome Experience Composer: Paul Zaza https://youtube.com/watch?v=-u7MUQDB5Pg Suite #1 (of two). Zaza provides a theme-driven orchestral score for this awful Bill & Ted knock off film where students go back in time, fight with each other, and one becomes of the homosexual love interest of the bad guy. This was not an "Awesome Experience". Given that the Canadian musician's union has higher rates and so far refuses to play ball on them, it makes scores recorded in Canada too expensive to release. When Intrada did one, it put the title at around $30.00 and they said it was their first and last score recorded in Canada. Sadly the union puts scores like this and a lot of "MacGyver", out of reach. Blame Canada. "Once Upon a Spy" Composer: John Cacavas https://youtube.com/watch?v=MxuEkniqdMM Suite #1 (of two). The unreleased James Bond score not to a James Bond film. This funky and orchestral score (with some electronic touches) from a 1980's TV movie is just what is needed right now. The TV movie itself, is bad. "Serpico" Composer: Lyn Murray https://youtube.com/watch?v=bGrEzqvt1zE Suite #1 (of two) covering the only episode of the series he scored. The score sounds kind of butchered in the episodes and kind of all over the place, with some obvious alternate takes tracked in other episodes (not presented in the suites, incase I am wrong), so I think the score was tampered with badly and new takes requested. I don't think they were happy with the score.

I'm curious to know if people enjoyed the first two scores. I'm hoping they get released one day.

Next week's suites: The second suites for "Once Upon a Spy" and Norman's Awesome Experience, as well another "Serpico" suite. Vote now for what "Serpico" suite you want: The second Drasnin suite. The second Murray suite. A suite of tracked music and unidentified score cues (as well as a cool score cue that uses the Bernstein theme, but is not found in any original score episodes).

What to expect from Monday's suites. As well as a note about November afterwards. Four suites Monday, with three of them being burn-off's for the not quite the police theme I had going (one a popular series and should make fans of the unreleased scoring happy). And of course another "Serpico" suite. November: I had said I had no TV series lined up, but then I remembered that Veteran's Day is in November, so I should do a military-themed series. And then I remembered a reader had just such a request in this thread...

If anybody wants to make suggestions for TV series for me to cover next year, should I still be around to do such a thing, go ahead. Next year will be like 2023: not that many shows covered. I still have to get through "The FBI" and "The Virginian", then I have one or two of the final hour-long long-running TV series to cover. The following TV series are not possible at this time (this is not a comprehensive list, mind you): "Riker" (1981) (Cacavas and maybe others) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081922/fullcredits No episodes have ever leaked. "Khan!" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072528/fullcredits No episodes have ever leaked. "Caribe" Only two episodes available, and one is a track job. "Bert D'Angelo/Superstar" No episodes have ever leaked. "Morningstar/Eveningstar" No episodes have ever leaked. "Dirty Sally" (the "Gunsmoke" spin-off series) No episodes have ever leaked. "The Manhunter" Only about half a dozen episodes available. "The Silent Force" Only one episode available. "Stone" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080283/fullcredits No episodes currently up. "The Duke" Only the pilot is up. "The Cowboys" No episodes have ever leaked. "Wide Country" (1961) Only one full episode up. "Kodiak" No episodes have ever leaked. "Joe Forrester" (the "Police Story" spin off series) Only one full episode up. "Griff" Only like three to five episodes up. "Gibbsville" Only like three to five episodes up. "The Blue Knight" Most of the series is up, but I am waiting for the whole thing. "Chicago Story" (1982) Only two episodes up. "The Runaways" Only two or three episodes up. When November comes around, I'll talk about in some detail about what series I will cover in 2024.

This week's suites. "Me & Mom" Composer: Dick DeBenedictis https://youtube.com/watch?v=AjZBqY4221Y Suite #1 (of two) covering an episode of the series he scored. This was a failed short-live series from 1985 that didn't even make it half a standard season. A mom and daughter solve crimes/mysteries. This was considered a "lost" TV series, in that no episodes had ever appeared online all this time, then earlier this year, a guy posted two episodes (said that's all he had). This was the only one Dick scored of the two. "Travis McGee" Composer: Jerrold Immel https://youtube.com/watch?v=8wUSpdAmoik Suite covering a feature-length pilot that did not go to series, about a private eye and yadda yadda yadda. Boring. Consider yourself lucky to have the suite so you don't have to watch it. "The Mod Squad" Composer: Earle Hagen THIS LINK WILL EXPIRE: https://ufile.io/985hz7g8 (wma video file download link) Suite #1. No further suites recorded, but more intended. This suite covers the pilot only. "Serpico" Composer: Robert Drasnin https://youtube.com/watch?v=eWsG3iDChGE Suite #2 -- the final suite -- covering the only episode of the series he scored. "Serpico" suites will be back in November.

What to expect from Monday's suites. Plus a comment about next month's TV series. Monday I kick off October -- the month of Halloween, with suites of death, murder, Kolchak, spooky and scary stuff, with one October surprise. To begin that theme I start Monday with Morton Stevens, and Mike Post & Pete Carpenter. The TV series I'll cover for October are two: one for spooky mysterious stuff, and another that fits the theme of wearing costumes. Both Mark Snow.
