Final breakdown of the season 2 album
...

This is great! Thanks! Did you happen to do a breakdown for season 1 as well?

Finished S2 and I think while still being far from good, Season 2 is an improvement over S1 over all.

Spoilers from here.

I remember enjoying the Sauron stuff the the most, especially the scenes where Sauron creates a fake reality to keep Celebrimbor away from the Battle.
The Battle itself was not as good though. While still being entertaining, the Battle was very confusing. I'm not an expert on it but I have the feeling that the Helm's Deep battle in LotR 2 made more sense in terms of tactics, action and reaction. But like I said, still enjoyble. Did I mention that I drank alcohol to enhance the enjoyment?

That was everything I enjoyed about S2... except...

The music, once again was amazing, probably better than in S1. I never listened to any Episode Scores until 2x05. I really love the Dwarf music and there's a ton of it and the end credit music "Sauron's Design" is a certified banger.

Oh yeah, "Sauron's Design" is just a great track. It's like a second concert arrangement of Sauron's theme that takes the theme in an action-y direction that he had no reason to go in either season's underscore yet. I can't believe he didn't consider it worthy of being on the main season album!

McCreary is generally very good at picking the best bits for the Season Albums so far but this particular track is the first one I really miss.

It's also pretty shocking that none of the score cues that interpolate "The Wandering Day" made it to the season album
