Then there is the episode "Strike!", which based upon cues I keep hearing in multiple track-job episodes, must have an original score by somebody, but I don't know who since the episode has yet to pop up online. I saved all those cues in a folder inside the "Serpico" folder, titled "Strike!", incase one day the episode pops up.
And finally, some of those cues may not be in "Strike!", so that would mean a second -- albeit much much shorter -- track-job suite.

This suite covers the only episode he scored. Unfortunately, not much from the score was tracked into other episodes, so not much repairing could be done. I guess the producers may have not been completely happy with it, but also probably coupled with the fact it's so distinctly jazzy and Parker and would be hard to track considering the tone of the show.

This is the Canadian documentary I was referring to months ago.
If you like theme and motif driven orchestral scores, this should come as a surprise to you. A wonderful discovery and a new name to look into.
He did documentary scores going back decades.
I hope people won't skip this just because they don't know the composer.
NOTES:
So, atop the tire situation, the spinny thing on the alternator broke and the belt came off. I used up the pretty much last of my auto insurance money (I can swing may two more months now) having it fixed. A mobile mechanic assure me that with some Threadlocker, he could fix it and it would never come off again (plus, the belt was not damaged). Car started, it worked. Three days later: it broke again. I thought this was a miracle fix, since I only had cheap labor involved, no parts. The belt is probably damaged now -- I fear tugging at it to get it out.
I have no idea what is happening at the moment, he's not responded, I am stranded. I have ever intent if posting the final batch of suites Monday, but I ultimately don't know what will happen here.

And a note about next year.
Monday will be the final batch of suites for the year. It's a special Christmas batch. One often-requested Schifrin series effort, a blast from Morton Stevens, two suites that bring their A game, and two Christmas-themed suites: one a TV series effort somebody brought up (and even though it was in another thread I was not posting in, I decided to make it an unofficial request) and the other a TV movie that by pure freaky coincidence, was brought up recently.
Then there will be a special New Year's blast batch, with some hot titles. January 2 or later.
Then suites will be scarce until sometime later February/early March.
NOTE ABOUT NEXT YEAR:
So, I got my tire replaced that I was funding for, then my car broken down. The alternator had to be replaced. Even though a junkyard yielded a cheap $50 used alternator, the labor has bankrupted me. No money for auto insurance, almost nothing left to fed me, no money to renew my tag in December. I will be driving around without auto insurance in about three weeks, so it's only a matter of time before I get caught. Then I will lose my "home" and that will be the end of suites. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that point and I simply get work before then, but it looks bleak.
And I got to watch the alternator replacement. It's a bastard to get off and out. The way the engine is laid out, the only way to take the alternator out once unscrewed and unhooked, is to remove the engine mount on one side and let the engine drop down onto something a couple of inches. Insane!

This suite covers his work on the show. I tried going threw episodes to find tracked score, in the hopes I could fix cues, but two things became apparent:
1. Nothing was tracked (at least in season one).
2. What cues heard in other episodes, were alternates.
So I decided to cover the alternates, too, from track-job episodes.
Like he did on other works, it's clear he recorded cues in parts: percussion separately, synths separately, etc., and used them as he saw fit. I remember reading in Aleph Records released of his score to the film Dirty Harry, that he did this (for example). Apparently other composers thought that was a good idea, too, as over time in TV series I have found Duane Tatro and Richard Markowitz doing the same.

Here a general progress updates on the cues. And by the way, should you have any MuTel Music from about 1950 to about 1970, please do contact me. Some promos may undoubtedly contain cues used in the show! It would save me so much time.
"chug chug chug"
The first half is done. What I am doing now is continuing to find it in the series to see if I can find cleaner parts to make the cue better. The second half still needs work since it's not used as often and when it is, its usually talked over. The alternate version of the second half is so rarely used and often talked over, that I am skipping it.
"4 growling brass"
The first half is nearly done -- one tiny part -- not even half a second long -- still eludes me. Every time I line up a cue with it to that identical part, there is always talking over it. The second half needs work still.
"descending staccato brass to crash"
About to be done completely.

Still needs work. Also, its kind of rough.
"lyrical downbeat contra clarinet"
Yeah, that should be a bass clarinet. But anyway, it's getting close to the initial stage of completion.

I really hope I can include this cue, but so far it has only been in five episodes so far, with one having mediocre sound (I used it) and one with bad sounds that is a last resort option.
EDIT: In the day-and-a-half since I posted this, I found like six more uses and have been able to largely clean up this cue. It's about 95% done now.
"trembling strings open/5 violin"
Still needs work. Not used very much (though still more than the above cue). Also, I don't have the full cue -- so far it appears to have not been used in-full on the show thus far. You'd be surprised how may regularly used cues were never heard in-full until much later half-hour episodes.
That's some of the cues being worked on. Not an update on all of them.

"Johnny Dollar" cues update:
I forgot the show switched to a half-hour format and I have been able to get through the show so quickly that I actually finished the Bailey run two days ago and have been working on the cues since.
At this pace it looks like an average of six cues a month are possible to release, so two most weeks, starting about February.
I'm not covering every single cue of the show, but I'd say there are about thirty cues I am covering. There will also be a suite of stingers and one-off cues that I thought were worth hearing.

Just a heads up: The first initial batch of suites for 2024 will be posted this Tuesday. I start off with a Mike Post & Pete Carpenter bang, a special Morton Stevens salvage job, and a third suite (not laid in stone yet; possibly a "Johnny Dollar" MuTel Music cue).
Then suites will pick back up for weekly regularity about early to mid February. Expect every month Mike Post & Pete Carpenter, and Morton Stevens -- just as in 2023. Other composers to expect throughout 2024 (this is not a full list): Oliver Nelson, Jerry Goldsmith, multiple Stu Phillips suites, Mark Snow, a few more "J.J. Starbuck" suites, a few more "240-Robert" suites, Dick DeBendictis, special suites made for myself from promotional CD's to showcase scores you've probably never heard before, Charles Bernstein, and more.
Also in 2024, I continue more of my salvage jobs. For those who don't recall what they are, or are new readers, that's where I record a score, then find every episode I can where the score was tracked (even in different TV series where possible) and copy and paste over clean parts over bad parts of the episode, to salvage as much of the unreleased scoring as possible. I've done this for multiple things already; off the top of my head: the entire first season of "Baretta", one episode of "The Virginian", the first episode of "Destry", Jerrold Immel's work on "Police Woman", the "Gunsmoke" episode score "Major Glory", and others. Well, more this year as well, with names such as: Jerry Goldsmith, Morton Stevens, Richard Markowitz, and Lalo Schifrin. And, of course, the MuTel Music cues for the radio program "Johnny Dollar".
As I think it is to slow going to do one suite for a TV series a year, most of the series I cover in 2024, will have two suites each. Maybe more depending.
I am, of course, always looking for suggestions. So far in 2024 I am fulfilling suggestions from score fans that include Oliver Nelson and Bruce Broughton.
And, for those who care about me personally and the circumstances I am going threw, I may have some good news about mid March. IF things go as planned.

"Arrest & Trial"

This is a special salvage-job suite. As Stevens contributed the last original score of the series, I went through every episodes after it to find all tracked score and to try and fix it. Please note: I did not record all of the episode score and thus have not made the effort to salvage everything -- I recorded most of it.
Not much of the score was tracked (I noted episodes that did, as "composer: stock music" on the Music Department section of each episode on IMDb), but important finds were: my ability to fix most of that delightful opening cue, and much of the action track. In fact, I found that the action track had a beginning which was cut from the episode, as well as part of the action cue cut from the episode, so I was able to restore both parts. The opening, however, had some dialogue it in, but the opening is just some strings and plucks or hits and the dialogue only occurred during the strings-only potions, so nothing of consequence was lost.
I strongly suspect much of the score was not tailed to the episode, but rather created for use.
No further suites from the series are planned.

The two only scored two episodes. This suite covers both.
Sadly, I could not do a salvage job. As every other contributing composer had their episodes scores tracked into other episodes, I could not find any of the two's score in any track-job episodes.
Maybe they had a bad time, as we know from the FSM booklet on Volume 1 that their theme for the show was rejected and not used. Maybe their contract specified no tracking and they must do original scores for each episode. Maybe they didn't want their scores tracked after maybe a bad experience. I don't the answers, I can only guess based upon my findings of going through all track-job episodes.

This is a specially made suite for my own listening pleasure which encapsulates all of what I deem to be the good material from his rejected score.
I finally gave this score a long overdue proper listen a week or two ago. It's got a lot of dull go-nowhere tracks with bland moments and themes I never could latch onto; I have this suite and I still can't think of a single theme from the score!
What comprises this cue is almost completely the action material.
