JThree wrote: Do you think with season two out, Disney might release a second soundtrack album (on iTunes) that will have "A Hero's Journey," on it? I suspect not. The show has made relatively little splash; I'm surprised (and relieved, of course) that we got a second season. An expanded/complete season 1 soundtrack release is probably more than the suits in licensing can be bothered with. Which is a pain, because there's plenty of songs I had to rip from video to get. Worse, there's several songs so mixed up with diegetic sound and dialog that I haven't been able to make listenable rip.

Available on Amazon. Terrific. Something else I'm not allowed to buy.

iTunes in the US is not the same as iTunes down here in Oz. Worse, I can't find out if it's available here in Oz without an iTunes account, and of course I don't have an iTunes account because I can't tell if they sell any music I want. So, yet again, those outside the US market get held over a barrel and thoroughly rogered.

And we've now had the Season 2 finale. Call me insufficiently critical, but I had a heckuva lot of fun! EDIT: I still don't know how this got green-lit in the first place, nor do I understand how it got renewed. To my untutored eye, it seems the antithesis of what the US would consider a ratings winner. All I can do is admit that there are things in heaven and earth beyond, WAY beyond, my ken, and hope to heck it comes back for Season 3!

A shame it got cancelled, but given how unlikely it is as concept, it's amazing it lasted two seasons. All I need now is a way to watch it... there doesn't appear to be a Blu-ray or DVD release anywhere and I don't have the channels that show it in the UK. Very oddly difficult to acquire!

Very oddly difficult to acquire! Welcome to the brave new world of streamed media! I say "new", because content owners are now able, as never before, to determine who is allowed to buy (sorry: RENT) their product, and who is not. Gone are the days when, faced with no domestic release of a DVD, you could safely import it from Amazon, secure in the knowledge that your multi-region player could handle it. Now, with geo-locked streaming the norm, you often CAN'T legally obtain something you want. Amazon, for example, refuses to sell Galavant, music or video, to me here in Australia. Apparently, it's available on iTunes, but the iTunes catalogue in Oz is much smaller that the US one, and they won't tell me if they sell Galavant until I sign up. Sigh ... Is it any wonder file-sharing remains popular? For me, and for so many like me, there's no other option.

I don't necessarily disagree with the concept of Netflix, Amazon Video or iTunes but when they faff about making it so arbitrary as to what is available, I can't be arsed. These people need to sort their shit out and just make things available wherever. Oh well, I'm sure Galavant will be available somewhere, eventually... For the record, iTunes doesn't have Galavant in the UK store :-(
