However, I don´t think that enough people would contribute to such a Kickstarter campaign to get together the needed amount of money - which in this case would be much, much more than what was necessary for Intrada´s DIAL M FOR MURDER. The difference would probably also be that unfortunately nowadays you won´t even sell 3000 copies of such a title anymore (the break down of costs and income above was still based on such a sales number) which is one of the reasons why James Fitztpatrick has more and more lost his interest in doing such expensive re-recordings - with the exception of BEN HUR and KING OF KINGS which he wanted to do by all means to bring the Tadlow recordings of the Rozsa epics full circle. You're probably right but, if someone proposed such a project, I'd be all in. The thing about LOTF is that it's such a cult classic that perhaps fans who are not film-score aficionados would bite. This pandemic certainly soured many great projects including kickstarters.So once this settles down and then perhaps the powers that may be will be able to consider such things. Land of the Pharaohs had a ton of overlays and sweeteners, too. I wondering if are they any chances for reissue of this epic Tiomkin score? FSM release was long, long time ago so reissue will be really welcomed. Even if mono, itwill be great to have this... For me the best option will be new recording.... something like "Fall of Roman Empire....," but im affraid it will never happen... so maybe original tracks can be reissued? Anybody think if they are any chances for possible reissue? I also missed out, but kept an eye on eBay & bought a copy about six months ago for something like £38 delivered. The trouble I had was that I'm in the UK & most of the copies were from the States, & the huge p&p just killed the deal. If you're in America the prices aren't to bad, around $40. As for a potential reissue, unless Warner decides to start playing ball with the labels (incidentally, what happened with the planned sale of their music library), we may be waiting a while for that.
