The film seems a bit overwrought, but if that means we'll get one last great album from Horner (not counting the MAG 7 reboot thing, whatever comes of that), that's what counts in this case.
1. The Atacama Desert 2. Empanadas for Darío 3. To the Heart of The Mountain 4. The Collapse 5. Buried Alive 6. Drilling, The Sweetest Sound! 7. Prayer – Camp Hope 8. The Drill Misses (And Dreams Fade…) 9. Gracias A La Vida – Cote de Pablo 10. Aiming To Miss 11. We Are All Well in the Refuge, The 33 12. Always Brothers 13. Fénix 14. First Ascent 15. Celebrations 16. Family Is All We Have 17. Al Final De Este Viaje En La Vida – Los Bunkers 18. The 33 19. Hope is Love
Some interesting echoes of Vibes, of all things, though I do wish the flow wasn't interrupted by songs. And of course it's far more bittersweet than it might otherwise be
I've been trying to find out but haven't found anything about a CD release yet. I assume one will be released, but until we have confirmation, and a release date, we are left to wonder.
I also haven't found any reviews of the soundtrack yet, which I'm anxious to read.

Over at jameshorner-filmmusic.com there is a contest where you can win a copy of the score so it does seem the CD is coming but I haven't been able to find any additional info about the release either.
Outstanding write-up! Only one more day! I have a feeling this will be a glorious final score from Mr. Horner, a fittingly brilliant and emotional swan song that will in many ways be a wonderful way to close out his career. That's my feeling based on the write-up and the samples. I think I'm really going to love this score, and knowing that it's his final released new score (barring a R&J or Magnificent Seven unveiling) will make it that much more special.
The music is being released by WaterTower. Lately their MO seems to have the digital album available for pre-order, but the cd won't be available for order until the day it is released. They did that with San Andreas, and they have done it with other releases as well. I also wouldn't be surprised if the release is a CD-R
I would be suprised if it won't another be overpriced and poorly produced CD-R.
More usual Watertower shit... just like usual... even though ANY other label would actually pay attention to that and would be particular in putting out the release of the best possible quality for such an important title.
Hey these morrons couldn't even release a proper CD for 200+ MILLION USD Jack the Giant Killer, but at least they release properly crap like Gravity or Mad Max.
You can now listen to the complete album--it's on Spotify! I'm just starting but have to hit the hay shortly.
Also, the MP3 album is now available on Amazon for $11.49. No CD yet. I wish they had the CD with the AutoRip bonus so I could buy the CD but immediately listen to the album. I may just cave and buy the MP3 album sometime today.
Surprised there are no classic lengthy Horner tracks on this one! The longest track runs 5:39, second longest 4:58, third longest 4:13...after that, no tracks run past four minutes!
