I would have bought a single dic "Best of' ST;ENT that included MIRROR.
I really dig the four CD setup that LLL has been using for these releases. Lots of music with focus on one or two composers then a disc of the assorted folks and the fan favorites disc. It worked well for DS9 and TNG.

Man, those Enterprise samples really reveal which episodes had real orchestras and which ones were stuck with synth. Budget cuts really hurt the show in the last few seasons.

The Batman clips make it clear the newly-remastered version is a worthwhile improvement over the previous one. A lot cleaner and richer. Very definitely.

Yeah, the best example for me is the first clip.

And yet, Seasons 3 & 4 considered to be the best. Apart from the awful finale. lol

Well, they are, but only because the writing started to shape up. And at least on appearances, the music is the only thing that took a noticeable cut. The visuals still looked as great as ever.

Enterprise has been ordered. Quick question though:

I know it'll be answered in the booklet, but how big was the orchestra for Regenerations? It just sounds so much bigger than any other Trek TV episode and bigger than McCarthy's Generations.

It was the same size orchestra as just a about every other orchestral score for the series.

Will wait for a sale on the Batman release, if the improvement(s) are that noticeable. Would swap out the discs and resell the new release (being very up front that it contains the previous discs) to make up some of the cost.

Obviously there's info that we don't know about regarding the decision to release it in this way...but I would think it's a very small number of fans that would pay $50 for an upgrade like this. I still have a lot of good will for LLL, but it does have a price limit, lol. Not trying to be Mr Negative, thanks (again) for the other releases!

I picked up Big Top Pee-Wee today and listened to it on my drive to work at Varèse, LORDY that is a FUN listen. So much great music and plays great. Thank you LLL for being AWESOME!

Also picked up Shaft, and Flower and Batman though I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet.

Edwin said he compared a track or two of this Batman set with the old one and he said there is a HUGE improvement so those on the fence on the sound improvement...BUY IT NOW!

My wife would KILL me if I bought Batman and Batman Returns (for a third time each) at this time of year. If there are still some around in 2015 after the sting of the holiday cost wears off, I might invest in the double set. I don't know. We'll see.

I'll probably buy Big Top Pee-Wee as well. I've only seen the movie once (meh) but I LOVE Big Adventure (movie and score). My only exposure to the "Big Top" score is from the Music For A Darkened Theater CD.

Same here on the BATMAN issue.. but later when the budget permits. Tried to watch Pee Wee but could hardly get through it but yes the music is vintage Elfman so had to be purchased.

Waiting for the signed copy registry numbers MV.

Soon you will have to buy them a fifth time when the Elfman Burton 30th anniversary fake-limited-edition music box is out.

If you liked that selection, you'll love the rest of the score. Lots of Elfman carnival-style fun, and some nice iterations of the love theme (although the best/most triumphant iteration is the one on MFADT).

By the way, I already sold both my original Batman CDs.
For $48, so after PayPal will give me my money, this new
set will cost only $11 ($1 + shipping) for me big grin

Actually I love that piece that takes place after the carnival music on MFADT. Is that the love theme?

I'm willing to trade my less spanking Batman remaster, (only spun once!) for someones new and improved Batman remaster. A deal no one should refuse.

I want to put in a plug for the Enterprise set--I've worked on all the Star Trek sets and while I was not much of a fan of the show, the Enterprise music set is a GREAT compilation--going back to this I was really surprised how active and exciting a lot of this music is, both from Dennis and Jay and some impressive scores from "guest star" composers like Brian Tyler, Mark McKenzie, Kevin Kiner and John Frizzell.
