Can't wait for this. Fun score and fantastically awful film.

Just remember it was the FEAR that killed Chief Brody!!!

MV

There is a very good scene in the picture, when Michael Brody is chased under the sea by the shark and Brody is trying to hide inside an old boat.

Which was a copy of a scene on "The last jaws " aka "Great white" aka "Jaws bolognese"

I don't remember any scene on "The Last Shark"/"Great White"/"L´Ultimo Squalo" that is even remotely similar to the scene of the attack on the submarine and chase in the sunken boat from Jaws The Revenge. Maybe you're referring to the "Last Shark" scene on which the shark traps divers in an underwater cave? But that is very different to the scene in Jaws The Revenge.

In fact this scene from Jaws the Revenge was based on a scene that was originally written for Jaws 3-D but discarded (like what happened with the mine car chase conceived for Raiders but used in Temple of Doom). I think that, as bad as the basic plot of Jaws The Revenge is (the nonsensical "revenge" of the shark), the film has some qualities: the great score by Michael Small, the attack on Sean, the submarine attack/sunken boat chase, the jump scare of the Moray Eel, the banana boat attack and the stunt of the plane landing on the water.

Totally not agree with both of you guys, look at Youtube at 69 (!) in the film, when James find Vick on the shipwreck he is followed by the shark ...
By the way, I never find a version with the music of Morton Stevens of this Jaws rip off ...

Sorry but I don't know what scene you're referring to. At youtube there's a scene in The Last Shark at 72" in which Vic dives to the sunken helicopter and the shark appears. Vic gets stuck in some cables and is latter pulled by shark (as Quint was in the Jaws novel) when James tries to save him. But no shark chase through sunken ships...

On the music I also tried to find versions with the Mortion Stevens score. But only the original version with Guido & Mauricio DeAngelis is available. That's probably because the "american" version rescored by Stevens was pulled out after Universal sued for plagiarism. This version may have been locked forever as a result.

It's interesting to note that The Little Mermaid have some scenes that appear 'inspired' by Jaws The Revenge.
There's a shark chase in a sunken ship and Ursula's death is identical to the shark's death in Jaws Teh Revenge (the original finale, on which the shark do not explode)

So,You right, I rewatched carefully, the shark is hunting Vic a little while , and James helps in vain ...
And do You know on the far terrible "Cruel Jaws" they stole a lots of "Last Jaws", "Jaws" sequences and at one moment as the boats départs we can clearly hear "( 57:57) starwars fanfare" !!!

Don't tell me about "Cruel Jaws" aka "Jaws 5 (which it isn't). It is a collage of scenes from The Last Shark, Jaws and Jaws 2 plus terrible actors repeating lines ramdomly selected from the Jaws movies. It is one of the worst movies I've ever seen and, to make things worse, I actually saw it in a theater...

Here is another one: http://www.examiner.com/review/jaws-the-revenge-soundtrack-album-review-music-by-michael-small

This release is excellent, after having the short promo for many years finally having all the tracks that were missing is fantastic.

For me the highlights are the Main Title and all tracks from the finale specially Ellen Goes Out To Sea, Michael Runs For Help and Plane Buzzes Shark. The more tender moments are great also with the previously unreleased Saying Goodnight and Peek-a-Boo being the highlights.

On the sequencing the only (very minor) issue I have is with the source track Runnaway Bay being in the main program. I'd prefer it after the score as it disrupts a bit the flow of the score, but it can be fixed if you transfer it to iTunes.

The packaging is also great. Loved the notes, the photos and the overal quality of the booklet.

Did anyone else get an odd booklet? If you look at the flipper art, the back of the booklet for mine looks like the vector files weren't fully rendered. I see black lines outlining some of the letters, and the image is pixelated. Anyone else?

Didn't want to say anything earlier, but yeah that inside artwork is rendered shockingly bad. Looks like a tiny pic from the internet was blown up further than its resolution would allow.

Yes, the back cover does not look so good, that was already apparent at the Images available at the Intrada site. But the main cover and the rest of the booklet looks great and, more importantly, the complete score is great and a much better listening experience than the short promo.
I edited a short suite with some selections from the score with the finale as it is edited in the film [spoiler alert]

Agreed, but the flipper jpeg on the Intrada site doesn't have the flaws that are inherent in the actual printed version. Black lines for each downward block of the letter W and pixelated water. Odd, I'm sure it was an oversight. Not something I'll get worked up over, but was just wondering if some actually got a version of the booklet where these issues weren't present.

Received this alongside Warlock today; I was familiar with the promo but wanted more and this presentation is very pleasing. The only track I'm skipping so far is "Runaway Bay" big grin. I just love the echo'y synth motif to indicate the shark is near and the material incorporating the Jaws theme is a pleasure. Not so keen on the slow version for the end credits, but luckily the score itself has that punch in the right moments but also some nice character moments to balance it out. Another great 80s score long overdue. Thanks intrada.

P.S. the alternate cover's low resolution and visible layers looks like an oversight, but a slight one at that and I prefer the front cover anyway.
