This beautiful score was first brought to my attention last October on this board. I am so glad that Roger , who is also a fan of the music of John Scott, has done a search for HAREM. If what I have just read in the posts above is true and things can be worked out, I hope an Intrada release of HAREM in stereo will eventually see the light of day.
What's scary to think is that it could have gone totally unreleased forever, possibly. Now that would have been a tremendous shame!
If that remains unreleased, go for it. Terrible music. My cheese grater is here. John Scott beard can be shaved What do you know ! Go play your generic comic book movie scores.
Of what little I have heard of Scott's efforts, he has rarely disappointed me. Even when I didn't like something, it was never terrible; this man has way too much talen to even write something terrible on purpose.
The last thing I heard of his was a video on youtube of his unreleased replacement score to the short film "Shellarama". All told, probably a little over twelve minutes of light-hearted fun themes and orchestration, with some fun percussion.
I played the music that's on YouTube, very good indeed. I hope Intrada will be able to issue the score on CD. I've been a John Scott fan since 1965! Now there's a man who knows good music. That's the way to go, PFK !
No idea if Lyn or Roger are willing to update us - But if so, I'd love to hear how these conversations went or are going!
Actually there's not much to update. I had sent Lyn two emails and didn't get a response back. Not sure if my emails go through or caught in a spam filter.
