Hi Roger!

I still listen to your great Rocketeer release regularly and hope Willow is around the corner. Keep up the good work!

MV,

The cover art is quite amazing on this. Can you share a larger version of it now for us, by any chance?

Thank you for releasing the one of the best scores from my childhood! I'm sure that with this being a 2-CD the original soundtrack release will be included. I find that I prefer to listen to this version over the film version, only because it's the one I had as a kid to listen to. Looking forward to seeing the track list and getting my hands on it!

They don't actually....

I'd ask about Howard the Duck too but I'm betting Marvel's involvement complicates that despite both them and Lucasfilm being owned by Disney now.

OneBuck, don't forget Jaws 2!

Plus, non-Spielberg Williams scores like Rosewood also deserve a mention as part of this new Williams expansions era.

Yavar

Well that is a whole OTHER list of awesome.

Home Alone 1 & 2 come to mind.

Jaws 2 (both film and score) are certainly on my want list.

My dream release would be complete and speed-correct presentations of the Indiana Jones scores.

Well I guess when Mr. Williams conducted a selection from ET during his Tanglewood performance, he was letting me know that this gem was coming.

Relax, I am not that nutsy - but this is great news after hearing a bit played live.

If there is one score that doesn't need a remix, remaster or any sort of audio tinkering it's E.T. Lyle Burbridge and Bruce Botnick's original recording and mix is already brilliant.

-Erik-

True.

ALl the gushing about a release that is probably redundant
plus none knows what's on it!

but hey its one of the greatest scores of all time so bring it on
smile

Funny thing is we asked about it right after Jaws but there was no interest in revisiting E.T. at the time. Things change of course. It goes without saying it's in great hands with LaLaLand.

Maybe they didn't want to conflict with the remastered album included with the recent 4K Blu-ray?

Edit: actually both the 4K and LLL are releasing on 9/12.

I hope that MV can comment on here regarding the possible redundancy of the disc included with the 4k Blu-ray. Are they using LLL's master for that disc, or is it different? (It is described as a remastered album disc, FYI)

Thanks for the clarification, Roger, and bummer that your timing in asking them was apparently just barely off.

Hey...Lucasfilm doesn't have any franchise plans for Willow at the moment, do they? smile

They are using our master for the OST, but all they are including is the OST

Awesome, thanks MV! I'll go ahead and cancel my pre-order of the blu-ray and order your 2-disc release instead.

Looks like I'm going for the regular Blu-ray on E.T. to go with La-La Land's new release.

For that extremely valuable nugget of information, I absolve you for not posting about how Close Encounters of the Third Kind looked at the Cinerama Dome.

I figured that was the case, but getting confirmation from the most reliable source of all is sweeeeeeeet!
