I received mine 2 days ago. Los Angeles County. Happily physical package is perfect. Disks do not appear to have scratches but I have not yet spun them. I can see how the packaging can be problematic for shipping.

Yawn. Nope need you holding that sign with your screen name - that's how you prove it! Just change your picture to that and your clear! Later!

No, now Jim, love KP! I believe we are done, so all the bullies can leave me alone now. Your next Jim, picture please, or do you not have one without your Mom in the picture with you?

See this is EXACTLY what I was referring to. Mom jokes? That is not a typical response from a female, especially a school teacher! Keep it up Erik you're not fooling anyone

Man, this does seem to be another Fluster Cluck from Varese!
Hopefully this will be the last of the gimmick collections and normal service can be resumed.
Looking forward to bagging a copy off eBay for $10 right soon.

For those of you who have received this, who gets the credit for the packaging on the set?

It is funny how I have to prove who I am, which I did, but 98% of you on here do not use real name or pictures. Funny isn't it.

99.9% of the rest aren't a 40+ year old dude posing as a female. My picture is in my profile - that's me holding a sign proving who I am. I sent a larger version to the email in your profile so you can see it clearly.

Now let's see yours

So, the picture that has been up for over a week with my husband is not good enough? If you require anything else, please feel free to ask EVERYONE else to provide proof of who they are on the message board. Peace out!

Um, a tiny B&W photo of two Asian teens? How exactly does that "prove" who you are? I could find a thousand similar pictures of an Asian couple with a simple Google search. And didn't you say you were a school teacher? Sorry but the girl in the profile looks waaay to young and the way you carry yourself on this board with your constant trolling seems quite unladylike & certainly not character traits of school teacher.

I remember clearly you joined 2 days after Erik Donovan was banned and you were posting the exact same nonsense he used to: attacking Ford Thaxton, making fun of that member "Basil" for liking My Little Pony, your fixation on Robert Folk, etc. Several people picked up on this as well which is why many don't believe who you say you are. All just a coincidence?

Unless you can post a link to a Facebook page, I'm going to continue calling you out everytime you start trolling as well

Not only that Erik Donavan was constantly complaining about CD packaging, attacking Bruce Kimmel, and mentioning his father in posts. "Kim" joins two days after Erik's banning & picks right up where he left off. Yeah no coincidence at all. Uh huh, right.

Since the topic is packaging, here's a post from Erik in a thread about the controversial FSM Ben Hur packaging....

Hey, I have a truck I would like to sell you. You say you are buying for the music and do not care about the packaging, well buy my truck, it runs and will get you to where you want to go, it is just all rust and dents! A package is part of the deal, I do not care if someone takes the CDs out of a jewel case and stores them in plastic slip cases, that is them. I for one want a package that protects my purchase for years and it sound like this one has issues.

Sound familiar wink

Guys - if we're to be taken seriously, this thread needs to stay on topic. Stephen King box set talk only please.

I don’t have the set but how about we talk music? I bet that Dreamcatcher kicks ass. Jealous not to have that one.

"We're Varese Sarabande--you'll take what is offered and LIKE IT!"

Fortunately, my set arrived undamaged and I immediately ripped it to ITunes so I wouldn't have to take the disks out of the problematic packaging too often. Glad to get the expanded DREAMCATCHER at long last. (Truth be told, I probably got the set mainly to have that driving end title music.)

For those of you who have received this, who gets the credit for the packaging on the set?

One person is listed a designer but I would guess they were instructed to design something like this. It seems it is meant to be a paperback book. It should have been heavy cardboard and individual sleeves if the don't want to use plastic. You guys ragging on Kim need to check your motives getting so bent out of shape about posting on a message board?! Really. On the other hand Kim we know your option about packaging. You don't have go on and on. I like this set and I hope Varese does more. I bet it is selling well.

Most of us don't give a rat's ass, Jim.
What counts is the content of a person's post, not who you think the person is sending it.
Okay bubbie?

Blood bags! LOL. They'll save those for the (unnecessary) vinyl versions!

The additional music from The Stand is ... okay. No real standouts for me. I'm happy to have it, but I don't think I'll play it very often.

Mine arrived today, mildly bashed in the mail, with creases to the outer box. Had two discs (discs 2 of both Dreamcatcher and The Stand...and almost The Shining) bouncing around inside the sleeve. Shipping in a box would have been preferred, rather than a padded envelope.
Also, most of the discs look bad, with light scuffing and marks on the play side of the discs, even the ones that hadn't come loose.
