"Bart Sells His Soul"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6ev4tb (minus the opening credits)
FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBTG0bD5lkg

Highlights:
  • 0:00 in. I know it's short, but I like it.
  • 4:50/5:06 in. Bart trying to trick Lisa with the growing dinosaur sponge.
  • 9:38/11:03/14:55/17:18/17:47/18:39/19:40 in. Music for Bart's soul journey.
  • 11:41/22:23 in. Bart dreaming of all the kids having souls. The second part is more of that, only now Bart has his soul back.
  • 15:20 in.
  • 21:22 in. Bart praying for his soul.

Reverend Lovejoy: "Wait a minute -- this sounds like rock and or roll."

    Little Girl: "Uncky Moe?"
Moe: "WHhhhhaaat is it, sweet heart?"
Little Girl: "My sody is too cold; my teeth hurt."
Moe: "Oh, your teeth hurt, huh? Your teeth hurt? Well, that's too freakin' bad! You hear me?! And I'll tell you where ya can put your freakin' sody!"
    Maude: "Oh, let's go dear."
Ned: "Well, I expect that type of language of Denny's, but not here."

Millhouse: "ALF pogs! Remember ALF? He's back -- in pog form."

    "Lisa the Vegetarian"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6ev4ta (minus the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFVNWTZXEZM

    Highlights:
  • 15:18/15:48 in. Chasing after the pig.
  • 18:02 in. Lisa walking around and seeing meat everywhere.
  • 19:27 in. Apu's secret garden (with a Rosenman tone pyramid opening).

    Apu is a vegetarian.

Bart: "What a load of crappy crap crap."

Homer: "Lisa, honey, are you saying you're never going to eat any animal ever again? What about bacon?"
    Lisa: "No"
    Homer: "Ham?"
    Lisa: "No"
    Homer: "Prokchops?"
Lisa: "Dad, those all come from the same animal!"
Homer: "Hoheh, year right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal."

I had to skip this one. NO LOAD FOUND.

    "Treehouse of Horror VI"
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJgW7Vp76zc

    "King Size Homer"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6k5wjk
FOX purchase link: Link not readily found.

    Highlights:
  • 2:27 in. Homer realizing being fat could get him on disability.
  • 5:05 in. Montage of Homer eating to get obese. In the same vein as the Land of Chocolate daydream from a prior episode. Over a minute in length.
  • 13:43 in. Big fat dynamo music.
  • 17:56 in. Homer vowing to unite fat people. A radio show host I listen to has his own made-up organization, which he calls: "Fatties United. Or FU."
  • 18:46/19:18/20:52 in. Homer trying to stop the imminent core explosion.

Dr. Nick says he went to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College.

I can't suspend my disbelief that you can run your vital nuclear power plant job from a DOS-based computer program on dial-up. Especially since back then it was hard to not be in the middle of something and get that AOL voice that made you got into a violent murderous rage, say: "Good-bye".

Homer goes to see a movie in a theater called "Honk if You're Horney".

So, Mr. Burns pays for the liposuction on morbidly-obese Homer, but why does he Homer come out of it still far in the next episode?

Lenny: "Yeah, he got injured on the job and they sent him home with pay. Pft -- it's like a lottery that rewards stupidity."

Homer: "I don't want to look like a weirdo. I'll just go with the moomoo."

Theater Patron: "Hey, fatty! I got a movie for ya: A Fridge Too Far!"

Phone Operator: "The fingers you have used to dial, are too fat. To obtain a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad with your palm now."

    "Mother Simpson"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6k5wjl (the opening credits and part of the episode beginning are missing, so time stamps will not match to a proper load)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmC0QIxKOXk

    Highlights:
  • 517/535/7:41 in. Mother Simpsons music bits.
  • 10:26 in.
  • 13:15 in.
  • 22:08/22:42 in. Saying good-bye to his mother. It continues on into the end credits. It's one of my personal favorite cues of the series.

This flash-back of Mr. Burns has him with more hair, but as Burns said in "Simpson and Delilah", he became as bald as a plucked chicken in his senior year of university. And as we see by his office door, he's a chairman at a college or university at this point in the flash back, so he should have the same amount of hair as he has in non-flashbacks.

Mr. Burns: "My germs, my precious germs. They never harmed a soul; they never even had a chance!"

    "Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6k5wjn (the opening credits and part of the episode beginning are missing, so time stamps will not match to a proper load)
FOX purchase link: Link not found.

    Highlights:
  • 1:00/10:17/16:00 in. Sideshow Bob music.
  • 2:15/12:09 in. Military music.
  • 6:05/7:35 in. Sideshow Bob sneaking around the base music.
  • 11:27 in. Base evacuation.
  • 17:15/18:57/19:35/20:35/20:52/21:03/21:30/21:42/21:57 in. Sideshow bob getting away and being chased.

In light of Roseanne's comment, people are saying Seth MacFarlane should be quiet or he'll get his show(s) cancelled. I've already had to point once to such people that "The Simpsons" has been taking worse shots at FOX for decades now, so Seth will be fine. This episode includes two such shots (there have been far far worse though).

Quimby: "Our city will not negotiate with terrorists. Is there a city nearby that will?"

Krusty: "Would it really be worth living in a world without television? I think the survivors would envy the dead."

    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cnTvoYG7rk

  • Nothing.

There's just barely any original score in this clip show. There are, however, some brief bits in deleted scenes.

Smithers: "His ass is gonna blow!"

    Marge: "Bart, stop pestering Satan!"

Troy McClure: "Yes, the Simpsons have come a long way since an old drunk made humans out of is rabbit characters to pay off his gambling debts. Who knows what adventures they'll have between now and the time the show becomes unprofitable."

    "Marge Be Not Proud"

  • 16:03/17:44 in.
  • 20:29 in.
  • 21:37 in. Chasing after Bart.
  • 21:58/22:53 in.

Krusty's Christmas special: A Krusty King of Kristmas

How would the store security guy have Bart's phone number since Bart didn't give it or his name to the guy on screen?

Ned made the Time magazine cover for Man of the Century.

    "Team Homer"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6k928a (minus the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTcYZnCrnzk

    Highlights:
  • 10:23/10:47 in. Pin Pals bowling music pieces.
  • 17:08 in.
  • 19:38 in. Mr. Burns gifts.
  • 21:18/21:50 in. Final bowl and winning.

Hans Moleman works as a janitor as the nuclear power plant.

Mr. Burns says he has Leprosy.

Comic Book Store Guy: "You fold it, you bought it."

Moe: "Well, I'm better than dirt! Ah, well," rubs his chin, "Most kinds of dirt; not that fancy store-bought dirt; that stuff is loaded with nutrients. I can't compete with that stuff."

Homer: "Ah, come on, if we quit now, we'll never know how badly they're gonna beat us."

Mr. Burns: "Look at them, Smithers, enjoying their embezzlement."
Smithers: "I have a much uglier word for it, sir: mis-appropriation!"

Moe: "Call this an unfair generalization if you must, but old people are no good at everything."

    "Two Bad Neighbors"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6eyi1z (minus the opening credits and part of the opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBGS2gTTUeM

    Highlights:
  • 15:02/1548/18:17/18:41/19:14/19:26/19:37 in. Homer vs. Bush.
  • 22:03 in. The next new neighbor.

The house across the street that had the unknown black character in a prior episode, is gone and another house is there and for sale. George Bush senior moves in. Lisa says it's one of the nine states Bush claims residency in; I don't know if that was a true fact, but it could be used to help narrow down which state Springfield is in (even though the creators have said there isn't a specific state); basically, it's nerd stuff.

Barbara Bush says Springfield has the lowest voter turn out in America.

    Disco Stu's first appearance.

Referencing a prior episodes: "I Didn't Do It" T-shirts for sale from when Bart was on Krusty's show.
And the giant head Mr. Burns gave them as a gift, is also for sale. As well as other items from prior episodes.

George Bush: "You know, in my day little boys didn't call their elders by their first names."
Bart: "Yeah, well, welcome to the twentieth century, George."

"Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f08wu (minus the opening credits and part of the opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwT-QeMyWqc

    Highlights:
  • 2:33/5:27 in. The short cue for Marge trying on the expensive dress. The second part just sounds like it goes together as a way to end the cue.
  • 8:38/9:58 in.
  • 16:27/18:00 in. Burns cheating at golfing music pieces.
  • 21:01/22:33/22:55 in. Marge making the decision between the club and the family.

Why would the car have a dent? Both vehicles they own have been totaled partially or wholly, so it should look like new. I guess it is possible Homer just simply ruins them constantly.

Burns remembers Homer's name for once.

Marge: "We can't afford to shop at any store that has a philosophy."

Homer: "I know a genuine Panaphonics when I see it. And look -- there's Magnetbox and Sorny."

And how some people get ready to post:

  • 4:45/5:19 in.
  • 18:08/19:23 in. Bart taking Lisa to find Krusty.
  • 19:04 in.
  • 20:30 in.
  • 21:07/21:49/22:28 in. Persuading Krusty to come back.

    Jimbo's real name is Corky.

Sideshow Bob should have thanked Bart the next time he got out of minimum-security prison.

Wiggum: "Okay folks, show's over, nothing to see here, the show's -- OH MY GOD! A HORRIBLE PLANE CRASH! Hey, everybody, get a loud of this flaming wreckage. Crowd around! Crowd around, don't be shy, crowd around."

Krusty: "Tell me where you are now, you bastard!"

    "Lisa the Iconoclast"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f08wy
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY2OKln8kwk

    Highlights:
  • 2:26/4:44/9:56 in. A catchy five-note theme for the Springfield Historial Society museum. And cues containing it.
  • 5:33 in.
  • 7:43/17:14/21:15/21:50 in. Jebediah and Washington fighting.
  • 14:33/19:36 in. Digging up Jebediah Springfield.
  • 16:54 in.
  • 18:14/19:16 in.
  • And the parade music at the end of the episode (original?).

Apu says he's a semi-legal immigrant, but we find out in a later episode he's in fact an illegal alien

Jebediah Springfield: "A noble spirit embiggins the noblest man."

Both "embiggin" and "cromulent" were made up words that have since not only become part of the nerd-speak culture, they've actually made their way into dictionaries.

    Homer: "You suck-diddily-uck, Flanders!"

Hollis Hurlbut: "And here is his fife; upon which he sounded the sweet note of freedom. His hatchet with which he hacked at the chains of oppression. And his... chamber pot."

Moe: "Awww, the little cutie wants to do something cute."
    Barney: "Oh..."
Moe: "Shut up you bums! Shut up!" (to the patrons)
    Moe: "Go ahead, angel."
Lisa: "Jebediah Springfield was nothing more than an evil blood-thirsty pirate who hated this town!"
Moe: "Good God! Ah, Homer, you know I support, ah, most any prejudice you can name, but your hero phobia sickens me."

    "Homer the Smithers"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f08wx (minus the opening credits and part of the episode opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ywr_YuXeXk

    Highlights:
  • 2:03/2:15 in. Mr. Burns and the "Thumbs up" drunk.
  • 8:16 in.
  • 12:05/1407 in. KO'ing Mr. Burns. And another cue.
  • 16:04 in. Mr. Burns thanking Homer.
  • 19:07 in. Yeah, it's like five seconds, but I like it. I wish there had been more.
  • 20:51 in. Smithers fighting Homer.

Smithers had a steal rod put in place of his spine from piano moving.

Mr. Burns' mother is 122 years old. And since Mr. Burns is still 104 years old in this episode, that means she had him when she was 18.

Smithers: "I've got to find a replacement who won't outshine me. Perhaps if I search the employee evaluations for the word 'incompetent'."
Computer read out: 714 matches found.
Smithers: "Seven hundred fourteen names? Huh, better be more specific. 'lazy', 'clumsy', 'dim-witted', 'monstrously ugly'..." (typing)
Computer read out: 714 matches found.
Smithers: "Ah, nuts to this. I'll just go and get Homer Simpson."

    "The Day the Violence Died"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f08ww (minus the opening credits and part of the episode opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fddy5_IWIeQ

    Highlights:
  • 7:37/8:02 in.
  • 22:54 in. The closing cue. Simple, but I like it.

The lawyer at the trial says "Steamboat Itchy", dated 1928, is "the very first Itchy and Scratchy cartoon", however in a previous episode titled ""Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie"", they state the first Itchy and Scratchy cartoon -- "The Happy Cat" -- is from 1938.

Apu is in jail for public nudity, which he says was an "accident".

Krusty is re-uinted with his estranged wife. I don't recall ever hearing about her ever again.

Bart: "Lisa, if I ever stop loving violence, I want you to shoot me."
    Lisa: "Will do."

    "A Fish Called Selma"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f08wv (minus the opening credits and part of the episode opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H_Wpx83M7o

    Highlights:
  • 11:18 in. The "Planet of the Apes" musical music. Probably one of the greats parts of any episode of the series ever.
  • 16:22 in.
  • 17:58 in.
  • 22:21/22:43 in. Selma breaking up with Troy.

Troy McClure was a 1970's teen heart throb, and has a bizarre fish fetish. He also drives a DeLorean and wears glasses.

The new McBain movie: "McBain IV: Fatal Discharge".

Troy McClure: "Sure you'll be a sham wife, but you'll be the envy of every other sham wife in town!"

Selma: "But... don't you love me?"
Troy McClure: "Suuurrre I do, like I love Fresca. Isn't that enough?"

Troy McClure on film: "No longer cance I conceal my love, my wimple turtle dove."
Troy McClure: "No longer cance I conceal my love, my wimple turtle dove." (at the same time Troy is saying the exact same line in the film "Muppets go Midevil")
    Selma: "Ohhh ohhhhh..."
Miss Piggy: "Ohhh ohhhhh..." (Miss Piggy says the same thing at the same time)
Troy McClure on film: "Oh, princess fare, wills thou grant me thy dainty hoof in marriage?"
Troy McClure: "Oh, princess fare, wills thou grant me thy dainty hoof in marriage?" (at the same time Troy is saying the exact same line in the film "Muppets go Midevil")
    Selma: "Oh, Troy, I will."
Miss Piggy: "Oh, sir Lancelot, I will."
[Miss Piggy says at the same time]

  • 9:52/15:26 in.

Millhouse's dad works at a cracker factory.

So, Martin earned $600 and went shopping at Wee World on a "shopping spree", but still $600 left? Math isn't the strong suit of the person who wrote that scene.

Lisa has a crush on another boy and it's not that redhead from the library.

Homer: "There's purple stuff inside. Purple is a fruit."

    "Yes ... I understand now..."

    "22 Short Films About Springfield"

  • 21:11 in. Jimbo being chased by the very tall man.
  • 22:32 in.

Why is the bumble bee guy talking like that and in Spanish when he gets home? In a prior episode it's shown that's all for the TV station -- he has a different voice and speaks English.
And there's that little Chihuahua again.

"Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in 'The Curse of the Flying Hellfish'"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f2uw2 (minus the opening credits and part of the episode opening)

    "Much Apu About Nothing"

We find out in this episode Apu is an illegal alien. The following Springfield people attend a citizenship test for amnesty, implying they are illegals, too: that Italian restaurant chef, the bumble bee guy, Dr. Nick, and Moe. Willie gets deported, though he wasn't seen at the test.

Uter -- the longest exchange student stay ever.

Quimby's Aide: "Sir, there's an unruly mob to see you."
Quimby: "Does it have an appointment?"
Quimby's Aide: Looks at a clipboard, "Ahhhhh, yes it does."

Quimby: "Ducking this issue calls for real leadership."

    SEASON EIGHT:

I had to skip this one; NO LOAD FOUND.

    "Treehouse of Horror VII"

    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjrEGSrEiDM

    "You Only Move Twice"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f4hrh (part of the opening credits is cut off)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1qHnwjuYus

    Highlights:
  • 4:19/4:49/8:07 in. Packing up and moving music. The last bit is similar, so I lumped it in.
  • 5:40 in. Pleasant driving music.
  • 1148/12:18 in. Sound like they could go together.
  • 13:16/17:54 in. A flute and strings for Lisa in the woods.
  • 18:35/18:54 in. Mr. Bond. There's a brief few second piece in a deleted scene in the 138th Episode special (maybe that could be tagged on).
  • /20:46 in.
  • 22:02/23:08 in. Coming back home.

Marge says Bart has a lawyer.

I find it interesting that one of my favorite episodes of the series has a such a boring un-funny opening that appears to be going through the motions for the first four minutes.

Yet again another wonderful character that never comes back and is only briefly seen in the background. Trivia online says Scorpio was to be the main villain the Simpsons movie years ago, but for unspecified reasons he wasn't made the main villain. With these James Bond films still a thing, I'm surprised we haven't gotten more Scorpio.

Homer is responsible for James Bond's death.

    "The Homer They Fall"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f4hri (part of the opening credits is cut off)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XR13GXTBawo

    Highlights:
  • 3:10 in. Bart running away from the bullies
  • 5:30/11:03 in.
  • 8:30 in.
  • 10:12 in. Boxing gigs montage. Female voices and harp. 99% SFX free.
  • 15:36/1613 in. Moe worrying about the fight.
  • 20:05/21:05 in. The boxing match.

Moe says there haven't been any ladies in here (the bar) since 1979. That's not correct; their new female neighbor Ruth Powers, was seen in there in a prior episode.

Moe: "Funs over, fellas. If you're gonna beat up my friend in my bar, there's a two-drink minimum."

    Highlights:
  • 3:59 in. Larry chasing after the train.
  • 18:25/18:59 in.
  • 20:15/2030 in. These two and the above two can probably be worked into a suite.
  • 21:19/21:48/22:20 in. Burns and Larry trying to reconcile.

Burns has his own private train box car.

That giant stone head Mr. Burns gave them as a gift seasons ago is seen in the basement.

Homer: "Have you ever herd of this kid Millhouse? He's a little wiener who--"

Marge: "Is every drifter we meet going to move in with us?"
Homer: "Oh course not; we'll decide that on a drifter-by-drifter basis."

Mr. Burns: "Smithers, take off my belt."
    Smithers: "With pleasure, sir."

    Continuing SEASON EIGHT:

    "A Milhouse Divided"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f6ges (minus the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF4yEY4I2wc

    Highlights:
  • 0:22 in. Santa's Little Helper, Snowball II and Maggie getting ready to get the meatball that has fallen on the floor.
  • 14:06 in. With a brief lull.
  • 19:41/19:52 in.

The Simpson house has been shown again and again to have only one bathroom, that Homer and the kids fight for in the morning, yet here Marge opens the dishwasher and there are four toilet seat covers in there and Marge tells Lisa to go screw them back on.

Millhouse's mom has no eyebrows and glues fakes ones on.

Why was Homer ins such pain over having a chair broken on his back by Bart? In the last dozen or so episodes we've seen he can not only take cannonballs to the stomach, but he can take punches and even pool sticks broken over him and not be bothered one bit.

The bully with a bald head has a kid (I just don't recall his name off hand).

    Marge's specialty of butterscotch chicken.

Homer: "You can't keep blaming yourself. Just blame yourself once and move on."

Millhouse's Dad: "I sleep in a racing car, do you?"
Homer: "I sleep in a big bed with my wife."

Homer: "Oh, and an evening with Philip Glass. Just an evening?"

    "Lisa's Date with Density"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f6geu (minus the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8insrnY_b0

    Highlights:
  • 11:06 in.
  • 15:45/15:56/16:07/22:24/16:23 in. Lisa and Nelson kissing.
  • 20:21 in.
  • 21:33 in.

Lisa says she has a crush and that she's never felt that way before, yet in two previous episodes, she had crushes on two different boys.

Mr. Burns: "Huh, one dollar for eternal happiness ... ummm, I'd be happier with the dollar."

Music Teacher: "Misses Simpson, do you find something funny about the word tromboner?!"

    Music Teacher: "NOBODY LIKES MILLHOUSE!!!"

    "Hurricane Neddy"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f6gev (minus the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI1DYVPmHh8

    Highlights:
  • 0:35/1:03/5:21 in.
  • 1:50 in. Kwik-E-Mart customers battling each other for items.
  • 8:50/7:10/9:30/9:55/10:50 in. Ned's melancholy music, with more uplifting material at the end. I've arranged it into a listening order.
  • 17:48 in. The spanking montage piece.

Springfield gets hit by a hurricane, so it must be at least a hundred miles close to an ocean.

People seen in the insane asylum: the babysitter bandit, and Jay Sherman.

Homer: "Okay, it's the standard Grandpa drill -- everybody into the cellar."

    "The Mysterious Voyage of Homer"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f6gew (minus the opening credits)
FOX purchase link: Link not found.

    Highlights:
  • 3:12 in. The first chili cook-off source dance music.
  • 3:48 in. Homer getting his chili-earing spoon ready to test chili.
  • 5:42/6:02/6:58/7:20 in. Chili testing music.
  • 8:08 in. Homer hallucinating and running away.
  • 9:05/9:54/10:49/11:26/12:15/12:35/14:15/14:36/12:58 in. The tribal percussion and woodwinds stuff for Homer's knowledge quest.
  • 19:12 in. Homer racing to the lighthouse.
  • 20:35 in. Homer's insanity music -- pizzicato strings.
  • 21:28/21:41 in. Making up with Marge.
  • 22:07 in. Getting a new bulb in and avoiding a ship collision.

You know, it's nice to see a character that won the lottery still have it seasons later. The cliché of a character winning money and loosing it is rather annoying.

Homer: Reading from a newspaper,"Hello, ah ... is this G.B.M.? Ah, yeah. I read in the personals you were seeking a soul mate. Well, I also like rainy days and movies. Ah huh. Ahhh, nooo, I don't like that ..... or that. No, it's not that I'm afraid and I'm gonna hang up now, bye-bye!"

    "The Springfield Files"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6f8iia (missing part of the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLE_jZDSTmY

    Highlights:
  • 13:10 in. The X-Files-ish music for Mulder's speech.

The Cheesy X-Files theme knock-off music throughout the episode was too cheesy.

It takes forty quarters for Millhouse to play the "Waterworld" video game. The only way to make money back for the studio. ;-)

Homer and Santa's Little Helper's birthday are on the same day.

Mulder and Scully are real people in the Simpsons 'verse.

Homer: "I'm like the man who single-handily built the rocket and went to the Moon. Oh, what's his name? Apollo Creed?"

  • 14:30/15:24/17:51/18:18/17:20/19:31/20:14/16:41/21:54/14:54/ in. Cabin music.

I tried to arrange it into some kind of listening order.

Mr. Burns: "We need some excitement around here."
    Smithers: "Chinese checkers or domestic?"

Lisa: "Mr. Smithers! Mister Smithers! I found another hurt shrew. I think this one has a twisted ankle."
Smithers: "Agh, twisted ank -- aren't there any healthy animals in this forest?"

Ranger: "Okay, search party, before we set out let's take a moment to humor the children. Kids, your father's gonna be just fine. Okay everybody, put on your corpse-handling gloves; we got two frozen bodies buried somewhere in this

    mountain."
Bart: "Did you hear that, Lis? Dad's gonna be just fine."

FOX purchase link: Link not found.

    Highlights:
  • 8:41 in. The "Marry Poppins" homage scoring.
  • 10:25 in.

This season the show has been getting a little ... cartoonish, if you understand what I mean.

Homer was part of Civil War re-creation society, along with all the Moe's Tavern members and Apu.

The Krusty special: the Krusty Komedy Klassic. That's the second Krusty special with the abbreviation KKK.

Snake's hair was blue in one scene.

Narrowing down which state Springfield is in: It's not in Mississippi.

Oliver Stone directed and "Itchy & Scratchy" and now Quinten Tarantino (in the Simpsons'verse of course).

  • 11:00 in.
  • 12:57 in. Krusty's speech before the new episode of I&S with Poochie.
  • 18:13/20:18/20:51 in. Poochie getting axed.

It's been a while since I've heard Phil Hartman in an episode.

Bart: "Mom, you can hug me when I'm asleep."
    Marge: "I do."
    Bart: "Agh!"

Kent cheated in the Springfield Marathon.

    The original [Evil] Robot Santa.

  • 3:40 in.
  • 5:14 in. Bob's speech to convince the town's people he has reformed.
  • 7:40/8:37/8:50 in. Cecil being beat out by Bob flashback.
  • 12:33 in.
  • 13:30/13:48/13:58/14:16/15:43 in. Bart and Lisa vs. Sideshow Bob.
  • 17:17 in.
  • 18:09/18:32/18:42/18:54/19:14/19:46/20:22 in. Bart vs. Cecil.

Back when Sideshow Bob episodes were still good.

Sideshow Bob sure got a raw deal in this episode.

Quimby: "Bob has explained his reasons for trying to kill us all and I assure you they were perfectly sane."

Marge: "You can't ask God to kill somebody."
Homer: "Yeah, you do your own dirty work."

Sideshow Bob: "Just the thought of all that raw surging power makes me wonder why I should care."

Sideshow Bob: "Be careful! There's hydro electricity in there!"

    "Grade School Confidential"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fa12v (minus the opening credits)

  • 10:30 in. The unknown mystery movie playing in the theater.
  • 12:47 in. Bart leading the school to Edna and Skinner.
  • 13:18/14:01 in.
  • 15:57/16:09 in. Taking Bart's advice.

Skinner takes Millhouse's name sticker off his permanent record and puts it on Bart's thick permanent record files. I'm noting this for a later episode for myself, since he isn't seen changing it back and it creates an interesting take later on.

We see one of Apu's kids.

    Skinner says he's a virgin.

Bart: "Misses K! Hey, it's Saturday, your powers are useless against me."

Ralph: "Misses Krappable and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me."

    Finishing SEASON EIGHT:

"The Old Man and the Lisa"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fbng4 (minus the opening credits)

  • 9:01 in.
  • 12:55 in. The "That Girl" parody music.
  • 15:12/16:52 in.
  • 20:00/20:43 in. What Lisa inspired.

Mr. Burns stole Christmas from 1981 to 1985. Kent mentions it on the news after bringing up hitting Bart with the car and blocking out the sun, so this happened. A prequel special showing this might be nice.

Homer has four simultaneous heart attacks.

Smithers: "How dare you question Mr. Burns!"
Mr. Burns: "Heh heh, I'll handle it, Smithers. Shut up, little girl!."

Smithers: "Sir, I'm so sorry my grocer committed you; I'll never shop there again."

Mr. Burns: "Ah, the baby who shot," after Maggie makes a finger gun and sucks on her pacifier.

Homer: "I hope you learned your lesson, Lisa: Never help anyone."

  • 13:46/14:01/14:15 in. Bart and Millhouse playing in the factory.
  • 1645/19:22/21:35 (goes on with some lulls) in. Grimmy plotting against Homer. With similar bits.

Lenny says Homer showed up the day the plant opened to get the job. That contradicts flash backs.

    "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fbnl2 (minus the opening credits and a small part of the episode opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OatrxHmFUk

  • 6:31 in. More "Miami Vice" parody music.
  • 16:32 in. The instrumental backing of The Simpsons Smile-Time Variety Show opening.

Skinner says he enjoys stamp collecting, too. If this is true in'verse and not something made up for the fake spin-off, that means he has something in common with Bart, who in a previous episode had a stamp collection. There's something to bring the two character together over.

Skinner: "Lucky for you this was just a warning gator."

Skinner: "He's gradually getting away, Chief."

Smithers: "Crack that whip. Licorish whip."

  • 7:52/8:36 in. A variation on the above theme.

    Highlights:
  • 3:52 in. The real Seymour Skinner.
  • 4:13 in.
  • 6:52 in. With some lulls.

Bart: "My theory is: Skinner likes dog food."

Homer's Brain: "Keep looking shocked and move slowly towards the cake..."

    "Lisa's Sax"

  • 18:35/19:12/18:49 in. Getting Lisa her first sax'.
  • And the special end credits arrangement.

Once again flashbacks that contradict over flashbacks.

Milhouse is allergic to soy milk. He could die from it.

    Stores in Springfield:
    It blows (air conditioning)
    King Toots (musical instruments store)

School Administrator: "Added extra clap -- not college material."

Dr. Loren Pryor (school psychologist): "Mr. and Mrs. Simpson, there's nothing to be alarmed about; a public school can be intimidating to a young child. Particularly one with as many flamboyant homosexual tendencies as your son."
    Marge: "Bart's gay?"
Dr. Loren Pryor: "Bart? Ah, ew -- wrong file..." puts the file away; the file name reads: MILHOUSE VANHOUTEN.
(this was the scene I was thinking about in a prior post for the episode "Grade School Confidential"; turns out it was a flashback, so never mind!)

    "Treehouse of Horror VIII"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fdlpj (minus the opening credits and part of the episode opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLj3-fLX2QY

  • 17:19/17:49/18:17/21:03 in.
  • 21:47 in.

Homer is watching "Tommy Boy" in a theater.

Comic Books Store Guy: Walking down the sidewalk eating a hotdog and reading a comic book, "But Aquaman -- you cannot marry a woman without gills; you're from two different worlds," sees the oncoming nuclear missile, "Ow, I've wasted my life."

    "The Cartridge Family"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fdlpg (minus the opening credits and part of the episode opening)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvuWjC48sXw

    Highlights:
  • 225/2:37/3:03 in. Soccer fight music.
  • 13:22 in.
  • 20:10/20:37 in.
  • 21:43 in.

What an absolutely disgustingly insulting episode.

Writing like this is one of the ways you know you have a person who knows nothing about guns other than what they've see in films and other TV shows; there is no "silencer" --that's a term Hollywood folk like to use; there's a suppressor and it suppresses the sound to a certain degree.

Marge should know better about guns considering she was a police officer and used it. She doesn't even handle it properly. Fuck -- she even initially tries to get rid of it by throwing it in the garbage. Only a Hollywood writer, man ... only a Hollywood writer.

As preposterous and silly-looming Moe's "special attachments" gun is, this is not that far off the mark of what a bonehead dumbass video on USA Today talked about last year. Let that sink in! About 16:20 in.

Marge: "Homer, I don't want guns in my house! Don't you remember when Maggie shot Mr. Burns?"
Homer: "I thought Smithers did it."
Lisa: With dry sarcasm, "That would have made a lot more sense..."

"re-recording"? Makes me want to smash my head against the wall seeing that word used in this context.

It's Scott Joplin's The Entertainer, I'm assuming (since I've never actually seen the movie) the scene is a reference to The Sting.

A brief cameo from "King of the Hill".

This season marked a turning point; while some episodes had good ideas, they were mired in unfunny jokes and bad timing. This is the first such example of both in near ful force.

    SEASON 10:

I looked over the episodes for the season and I can't recall a single one worth seeing. Clearly season ten was a tuning point. As unfunny and bland as some of the episodes were the last season, it at least had some good episodes in it. This is going to probably be painful to watch...

    "Lard of the Dance"

  • 4:46 in.
  • 11:54 in.
  • 18:46/19:33 in.

Nelson is humming Elfman's series' theme.

This is one of Phil Hartman's final episodes; he played, notably, Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure, until Hartman's wife murdered him. He would have been in another season of "Newsradio" and would have voiced Zap Brannagin in "Futurama" had she not killed him.

Marge: "Nelson's a troubled, lonely, sad little boy; he needs to be isolated from everyone."

    "Treehouse of Horror IX"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fmbty (minus the opening credits and part of the episode opening)

  • 2:51/4:17/4:41/5:17/5:29/6:09/6:30/7:16 in. Snake's evil hair. No cue arranging needed -- works in the order presented in the episode.

    Highlights:

  • 13:3?/14:13/14:29/14:38/15:19/15:43 in. Spy music.
  • 17:42 in. Wish that had been longer.

    A mediocre episode.

Apu's wife could have been a regular friend for Marge; they go together rather well.

Moe says she's stalking a girl. Moe, one hell of a shady creepy character when you put it all together: an illegal alien who registered as a sex offender who is stalking a girl and was willing to let a friend die for fame and money. Quagmire before Quagmire!

I had to skip these; NO LOADS FOUND.

  • 16:09 in.
  • 17:44/18:05/19:08 in.

    Another boring mediocre episode.

I had to skip this one; NO LOAD FOUND.

    "Mom and Pop Art"

    FOX purchase link:

    Highlights:
  • 5:15 in. The "Psycho" parody music.
  • 16:30 in.

    Another boring episode; barely mediocre.

Obviously that BBQ video was meant to be Troy McClure, but with Phil Hartman having been murdered, it must have been re-written quickly.

Homer says other people sue him and his average settlement is $68,000.

Homer says in high school he was voted to mostly likely he a mental patient/chimpanzee/something else I don't recall.

Bart: "I'm flunking math and the other day I was a little attracted to Millhouse."

    Millhouse: "Everything's coming up Millhouse!"

"The Old Man and the 'C' Student"
    https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6le2m3 (minus the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heKYnb-gsPs

    Highlights:
  • 0:00 in.
  • 3:00 in. Kind of reminds me of Elfman a smidge.
  • 8:44 in.
  • 16:30 in.
  • 19:37/21:07 in. With some brief lulls.

Narrowing down which state Springfield is in: it has a ocean shore line. Which kind of backs up "Das Bus" in a way.

Lisa has been volunteering at the old folks home for over a year.

Why is Hans Moleman in the old folks home? In a previous season it was established he's 31 years old.

    "Monty Can't Buy Me Love"
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6le2m4 (missing most of the opening credits)
    FOX purchase link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs9CdAKo_oI

    Highlights:
  • 18:40/18:58 in.
  • 20:05 in.

    Another boring episode.
This episode reminds me of a quote from Smithers in "Who Shot Mr. Burns?":
"And when he planned to steal our sunlight, he crossed that line between everyday villainy and cartoonish super-villainy"

Well, this episode may be the first that crossed the line from everyday Simpsons cartooning to cartoonish super cartooning. If you get that.

Mr. Burns remembers Homer's last name, which he 99% of the time needs Smithers to say to remember.

    We see Willie's parents.

Lisa: "Oh -- I hear this really sucks," turning up the sound on "The Postman" film, "Um, director's commentary."
Kevin Costner: "I'm sorry, I am really sorry. UGH! AGH! I don't know what I was thinking. But, ah, 'Field of Dreams' was good, wasn't it?"
(and no, despite the string of guest star appearances, it wasn't Costner voicing himself)

    SEASON 11:

I am going to brave some of this season, but if it sucks as much s the last one, I'll just start skimming episodes to hear score. I think this is where I finally, back then, abandoned the series.

  • 15:38/17:53/18:06/18:27/19:04/19:17 in. Hollywood exec's chasing Homer and Mel Gibson.

Only five minutes into it and this is boring!
And now that's it's over, I've upped it's crap level to: awful.

Narrowing down which state Springfield is in: it's not California, since they had to fly there by commercial airplane.

Homer: "My children deserve to see me get a free gift."

Homer: "Why, you -- you made them cancel 'Platypus Man'!" (strangling Garth Trelawney's tux)
