"You Are The Pan" from Hook

YES!!!!! You Are The Pan is my absolute favorite track. I even have it as a ringtone. Gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

My man! It’s my favorite by a wide margin. Both sections give me goosebumps (when pockets is touching Pan’s face and when Rufio gives Pan his sword. The moment he starts to crow...chills every time).

Does having a favorite track as a ringtone spoil it for you? Or at least diminish the effect it has on you? I wouldn’t want to associate my favorite John Williams with a work phone call.

This was easier than I thought, thanks in no small part by previous suggestions. No particular order.

E.T.- Escape / Chase / Saying Goodbye
Raiders of the Lost Ark- The Map Room: Dawn
Empire Strikes Back- The Battle Of Hoth (Ion Cannon/Imperial Walkers/Beneath The At-At/Escape In The Millennium Falcon)
Superman The Movie- Theme From Superman (Main Title)
Jurassic Park- Journey To The Island

Okay gotta break the rules and add one more!

Jaws- Preparing The Cage

I thought of 20 pieces right off the bat, and painfully whittled it down to 5. In no particular order...

Adventure on Earth - E.T.
Desert Chase - Raiders of the Lost Ark (I'm surprised no one has selected this)
Binary Sunset - Star Wars
Theme from Superman
Battle in the Snow - Empire

And just missing the cut: Man Against Beast - Jaws

1. Desert Chase (the album edit) (Raiders of the Lost Ark)
2. The Fortress of Solitude (Superman: the Movie)
3. Throne Room/End Title (Star Wars)
4. Rebel Fleet/End Title (The Empire Strikes Back)
5. The Early Days, Massapequa (Born on the Fourth of July)

Just missing the cut: Luke & Leia (Return of the Jedi)

You really dodged a bullet there--I almost picked it as YOUR #1 Williams track.

Ha! I stand corrected. Glad to see others feeling the love for this amazing piece of music.

Sadly, though, whenever I listen to The Desert Chase, I'm reminded of the mess with the Concord release frown

I refuse to list my favourite 5 JW tracks, as the parameters are too wide.

However, if I were to narrow it down to one of my favourite "sounds" of Williams, i.e. the socalled religious sound, I could at the very least pick out five top-of-the-class tracks within this category.

So something like:

"The Face of Pan" from HOOK
"Angela's Prayer" from ANGELA'S ASHES
"Restoration" from JANE EYRE
"The Penitant Man Will Pass" from INDY 3
"Star of Bethlehem" from HOME ALONE

But of course, leaving out stuff like my alltime favourite score, JURASSIC PARK, in that kind of approach will just piss me off. big grin So better leave it at that.

"Restoration" is indeed a beautiful piece. Really, the entire Jane Eyre score is wonderful.

1) Jaws - Promenade (Tourists on the Menu)
2) Superman - The Helicopter sequence
3) The Fury - Gillian's Escape
4) Black Sunday - The Blimp & the Bomb
5) Land of the Giants - Giant Eyes Etc.

Any order - Five is not enough to carry Williams vast cv, different times I tend too maybe like others - man is a legend.
