....We found one recording of it. It started off okay and then about 5 seconds in it just started degrading and getting worse and worse.....

After 50 years, we're fortunate to get this set in any form. Thanks to all involved.

Now there's more hope for Time Tunnel and Voyage.

Voyage deserves the Trek/LIS box set treatment. It'll never happen, but there's just too much great music and I would always mourn the exclusion of undoubtedly favorite cues. Unlike LIS, where some of the comedy scores don't appeal to me, 90% of Voyage's music is just my taste. Same with Time Tunnel. Alas...

REALLY jazzed about Giants.

Yeah, it would've been cool if Voyage had been tackled first of these Irwin Allen shows. I also like its music more consistently than LiS.

Of course as a Goldsmith nut my highest priority is getting a complete version of Jerry's sole score for the series. I'm sure that as with Williams's Land of the Giants pilot score, presenting a complete version of that will be LLL's #1 priority on a prospective 4 disc set of music from the series. Out of sheer curiosity, I also hope they include the work of Jerry's brother-in-law, J. Michael Hennagin (also a composer who worked briefly in Hollywood; Jerry gave him the credit for his Black Saddle theme because he was going outside of his CBS contract at the time).

I just bagged a copy, so that's at least One of the thousand copies going to be winging itself over the Atlantic to Britain. Please let it arrive safe and sound. I shall be panicking and worrying from the moment I get the dispatched email notice and won't relax until it's safe in my hands!

This is my favorite release of the season-5 hours of great atmospheric music-ordered it this week from SAE.
8 suites are available to stream on Youtube posted by Fish Man in 2016.
Great listening.

Mine hasn't shipped yet either.

La La Land mentioned on their facebook page last week that Land of the Giants wasn't in stock yet and hopefully would be in on Monday (yesterday) or Tuesday (today) at the latest.

So hopefully they got it today and will start shipping soon. I hope so, I ordered a bunch of other new titles too, and I'm assuming they are going to ship them all together.

I did wonder if there was a delay in them receiving stock. Mine is still awaiting shipment but I'm really hoping I get it by Christmas because mine has to be flown across the Atlantic to the UK.

Shipping date for this title has now slipped to the 17th December. As a UK customer, it looks like Santa Clause won't make it here in time!

Maybe the Black Friday releases should in future be known as the New Year's Day releases?

That's an unwarranted slam on LLL. As they have stated in other threads, there are often circumstances out of theri control, involving the manufacturing company and/or shipping from the various sources, sometimes there can be printing issues with the booklets and/or inserts. Do you realize how many moving pieces that are involved in getting these releases out? Why not just be patient?

Good idea, regardless if the cds are delayed or not. Black Friday is about sales and discounts, not new products announced at full price, so I never understood LLL's doing this. Quartet's releases were referred to as Christmas releases - why not do that? Or to be more inclusive, Winter Holiday releases?

Basil, I have the utmost respect for you and everyone else on this board, however we should cut some slack to the good people of LLL. They really do an incredible job throughout the year and it is unfortunate that there has been a delay, which from all accounts is out of their control.

I am certain they are working really hard behind the scenes to ensure all orders will be shipped before the holiday shutdown.

Personally, I've never understood the Black Friday branding and almost wish they'd spread their major releases out more, which would, to my mind at least, make it much easier for everyone involved.

As long as I know it's gonna be here eventually, I am content in the knowledge that I ordered it before it sold out.

Agreed, and it seems ever increasingly difficult to produce these things as studios are very quickly losing interest in physical media and production plants (in the US) are going the way of the dinosaurs. Thankfully a dozen of so specialty labels are sticking with it despite the hurdles and hassles.

Black Friday isn't really about sales anymore, or at the very least the discounts generally suck.
LLL took a tired and antiquated holiday pitch and twist it something exciting and special.

Even if it's become a fake discount day, it's still about things on sale. LLL could get rid of their overstock or whatever, and announce winter releases a week later.
