red carpet premiere stream has clips from the score and opens with what has to be part of the final battle.i got chills...its so epic, that choral part before the avengers theme...Imagination ran wild there...
Seeing this in an hour. I have no to little interest in superhero stuff, or their scores, but I've re-watched the first three as preparation, and I am at the very least expecting spectacular visuals. The screening is in an IMAX theatre.

No spoilers please! It opens here this weekend. That said, I am interested in hearing how the music was.
No worries, I'm not going to spoil anything. In fact, I won't say anything about the film at all (we're embargoed untill 01 AM).
The score was as expected -- loud and rambuctious, not quite my cup of tea. BUT....I quite liked the quieter moments. The first part of Silvestri's end credits music is heartbreaking -- all strings, almost, doing various chord modulations that are both heroic and melancholic at the same time. Also references to other non-Silvestri Marvel scores, as one would expect.
I might be able to create a decent playlist out of the soundtrack with some work.

Thanks Thor, Robert Downey Jr. publicly commented that the last 8 minutes of the film were the best. I just wanted to know if that statement is accurate, and how much of those 8 minutes make up Silvestri's End Credits score? I joked on Twitter that he must have been referring to Silvestri's score.
I'm guessing Downey speaks of the 8 minutes PRIOR to the end credits. That also has a lot of fine music. Also, the end credits has a little bit of....uhm, other kind of music before Silvestri's orchestral suite (can't phrase it differently without spoiling).

Excellent. Looking forward to seeing and hearing it. Probably won't be until sometime next week, or the following week after the intense hype dies down.
