Amazon UK - No pricing yet, I expect it to update soon

Considering the new blu-ray isn't even listed yet, this is a surprise.

It looks like the tracks are not in chronological order if you look at the tracks with the same name as the tracks on the Varèse Sarabande release.

I feel like this is MV's face after learning about this release.

Amazon France added a presentation text about this release:

"Pour les 35 ans du film cultissime SOS Fantômes (Ghostbusters), redécouvrez sa bande-originale composée par Elmer Bernstein, dans une toute nouvelle édition comprenant un nouvel artwork, des titres inédits et des notes du fils du compositeur, Peter Bernstein".

For the 35th anniversary of the cult movie Ghostbusters, rediscover its score composed by Elmer Bernstein, in a brand new edition featuring new artwork, unreleased tracks and liner notes by the son of the composer, Peter Bernstein.

I wonder if the CDs will be available for purchase on June 8 at the event in Toronto. I assume they will be as it's close to the release date. It's also being held at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts.

https://petermbernstein.com/event/ghostbusters-live-toronto/

Peter Bernstein, son of the Academy Award®-winning composer and an orchestrator for the film reconstructed Elmer Bernstein’s brilliant score and will join as special guest conductor.

I'd consider getting this for the Peter Bernstein liner notes, even though I do own the Varese. I will confess I'm a bit confused how this can feature unreleased music, when it is noticeably shorter than the Varese album...

We don't yet know track times. Cues could have combined music?

I'm pretty sure I saw a total time of 61 minutes posted for this new Sony release, somewhere...which is 8 minutes less than the Varese album.

It looks like they also dropped all tracks that were according to Varese edition "not used in the film".
Title
Ghosts!
Ghostbusters!
End Credits

Some tracks have different names compared to Varese, so who knows, what is really there. Probably not complete, but still better than nothing for those, who missed Varese.

Half or more of the End Credits was used in the film. Varese got that wrong.

Because Amazon has no idea that a limited edition was released 15 years ago. Even if the VCL was official it was not widely available. They're obviously refering to the soundtrack song album which included 2 Bernstein tracks.

Just wanted to add MV's quote on GB from a while back, found it today when I was looking for something else.

Yes, here is the original quote:

Ghostbusters and GB2 were supposed to come out on Madison Gate during Sony's obsession with all things Ghostbusters. Initially we were going to do GB2, then in his excitement Mr Edelman spoke with a top exec at Sony who put the kibosh on LLL doing the project stating all things GB should be kept in house. Things might be different now. We'll see.

Yeah, I would say MV is being a little disingenuous by acting all surprised and that they didn't want this. Obviously they did and this news is not what they would want. Sorta like what happened with TMNT. Win some, lose some.

I tried to compare the tracklist to the varese release and the footwarmer and put it in, possible, chronological order.

2. Library
3. Venkman
4. Hello
6. Get Her!
7. Plan
9. Fridge and Sign
11. Client
12. Dana's Apartment
13. Same Problem
14. We Got One
25. Halls
26. Ballroom
27. Trap
5. The Best One in Your Row
17. I Respect You
21. Cross Rip
10. Attack
18. Who Brought the Dog
15. Zuul Part 1
19. Zuul Part 2
20. Steel Drum
16. Meeting 1
23. Judgment Day
24. Mistake
22. News
28. Meeting 2
29. Earthquake
30. Stairwell
31. Gozer
32. Let's Go
33. We're Going to Save the World
34. Mr. Stay Puft
35. Final Battle
36. Finish

Bonus Tracks:
1. Ghostbusters Theme
8. Dana's Theme
37. Zuul (Album Version)

Based on no info whatsoever, it appears it has some source music (track 20 and possibly 26) along with a few other missing pieces. I'll be curious to hear once more info is released. If it has all of the actual score heard in the film, it will be worth it.

Amazon.ca just stopped selling the CD. Now it states "Currently Unavailable."

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07Q5CQ48N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm sure it's temporary and will change once the release date gets closer.
