Unfortunately the "report abuse" link is not working, but you have some serious problems Mr. Marshall.

You seemed offended by my response to this thread which is asking for an ideal dream wish list of how we'd hope for the Bond soundtracks to be released, and I included preferences that others, including the original poster, mentioned as well.

But you chose to call me out on it as if it's a dictatorial order.

Then you call me a moron.

Then you mock me for expressing my desire to purchase the soundtracks (as others would too, that's what this thread is about).

Then you continue to make wordplays on my name by emphasizing "jurASSic".

I've seen your other posts here before - you start arguments, you frequently make racial comments, and you attack others, as you are with me.

I am CALLING YOU OUT because you should be banned from these boards, and should have been long ago. Your actions are straight off the list of things NOT to do, mentioned in the Message Board Community Rules.

Me?

Lighten up..I wasn't ' attacking' you' I was making fun of you. Big difference.
You demean the fantastic job Lukas did on his expansions with your criticism of the previous releases. So take your medicine and stop being such a crybaby.

Peace.
Brm

P.s. your real name isn't JURASSIC , is it? All is fair when you hide behind a screen name.

Can we all just agree on what's really important in life, which is James Bond music?

Yes but presented in a Listenable program. No 50 cue recording sessions.

You’ve been on these boards for over 15 years - the rules that you agreed to for these boards literally say no “personal attacks” and “offensive language”, both of which you’ve breached. You should know better.

Whether you choose to act like one or not, you’re an adult and need to be accountable for your actions. Everything you’re saying is a projection of what you should have done which is respond to the content of my post rather than attacking me personally which is what “making fun” of someone is.

Lukas Kendall doesn’t need you as his spokesperson and is far smarter than your subjective opinion of my “demeaning” “critique”. I bought the CDs he worked on and enjoyed them, and for this post I responded, on topic, with a wish list of the ideal releases, with some of the same preferences that others also expressed as wanting to see from the rereleases of these soundtracks.

But I’m smart enough to know it’s not really about this with you, it’s about your bruised ego, and where I’m being as direct about this situation as one can possibly be online, you’re the only one hiding behind childish excuses. The only thing any of us should be ashamed about in regards to Lukas Kendall is that he puts his time into posting on these boards where people like you post the types of insults and attacks and language that you have been and we sit idly by without demanding better from these boards. No matter how many more insults you hurl, I will not let this be shoved aside as it has been for far too long, without the admins stepping in.

No offense, but this is looking like a personal email thread that would be better conducted in private. The rest of us were trying to discuss James Bond music in public, and you keep pushing us off the rails. smile

One thing I find interesting about Bond music is the choice you have, so often, to play a cover version instead of the OST. Obviously I'm into Roland Shaw, but I also like the City of Prague Philharmonic's body of Bond cues. They aren't just alternates; they added something vital back to Moonraker that was missing entirely. And their "Wine with Stacy" is gorgeous.

And there's even a song where the cover is better than the original: Celine Dion's 1992 version of "If You Asked Me To." Dion's track is cinematic and masterful, and much more Bond-like than what you hear in the movie.

BRM and Jurassic, cool it please. In fact, BRM, perhaps just don't post responses to Jurassic's posts. I don't want to hear about this dispute/argument/pissing contest/name-hurling again.

And Jurassic, we "step in" to deal with behavioral issues or board violations ALL the time. Just because you don't see intervention meeting your needs doesn't mean we're not dealing with issues behind the scenes in email or other avenues. Try using the Ignore function. We tell everybody to use the Ignore function if they can't get along with someone. BRM, perhaps you should do the same.

The Part 2 of the “What’s The Score” podcast with Lukas Kendall is dedicated to Bond music:

https://www.podbean.com/eu/pb-g5qe4-b3fb17

Some comments on potential new releases makes it clear that they are not like to come out fast. Each release must be cherished.

A good thing is that it seems that the additional material from the previously expanded scores (Thunderball, On Her Majesty’s Secret Sevice, Diamonds are Forever) seems to be preserved in digital form in Lukas hard drive.
More concerned for the ones that remain on tapes that may be degrading.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but Lukas reported in 2003 that the Diamonds expansion was complete, except for some wild hits of snare drums and "charge" trumpet calls from the Vegas circus scene. It's just very minor source music. Thunderball and OHMSS have good unreleased material, as is well known.

Yep. Session tapes from The Man with the Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me were not given analog to digital transfers in 2003 because EMI did not want to spend the money. Very sad.

I think they would have to transfer TMWTGG for the "new" surround mixes - not sure about the others since they already had multi-channel mixes. Tape degradation is a serious issue. 1970s and 1980s tape stock seems to be particularly instable.

I just listened to Lukas K in that "What's the Score" Bond podcast (a fun listen) and I could swear he said that Man with the Golden Gun did get transferred but the record company pulled the plug on any further work because they'd already spent more than they intended on the whole project. Maybe I just wanted to hear that, though. Now I'm going to have to listen to it again!

You’d hope that if they are happy with the LLL releases of the last couple of years, that they might see the sense of preserving the recordings digitally for possible future releases.

It's a fair point made by Zap regarding the choice of Bond Music available elsewhere. I enjoy listening to the Shaw Bond CD I have, but not so much the COPP Back in Action releases. There's just something not right sounding about them, be it tempo or selection I'm not quite sure. I've never liked those releases, though the design was clever.

The CD I have of theirs which was the original theme compilation they issued (Essential James Bond is it?) is a better listen.

On Diamonds he mentions a longer version of the title song with an additional verse. It may not be the most essential expansion but I’d like to hear that someday.
On Thunderball, besides the music still missing, he mentions an alternate Street Chase using the Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang theme instead of the final version with Barry’s 007 theme.

But for me the essentials are the ones not yet expanded, from TMWTGG to License To Kill.
