My UK LP of The Spy Who Loved Me label lists Paul Buckmaster as composer of the track The Tanker while later releases on CD don't. I think Buckmaster was involved on Eastern Lights and Mojave Club. The soundtrack is badly in need of the original session recordings.

You are correct. The cue sheet lists Buckmaster as composer of "Mojave Club", "Eastern Lights" and "Eastern Lights with Under Mojave." Hamlisch is credited as the composer of "The Tanker."

Thanks for clearing that up Jameson.

Buckmaster also wrote the haunting track "Anya", which sadly does not appear in the film.

I can't think of a scene where it would fit. And it doesn't seem to fit the general feel of her character. It's a good track on the album, but should they have used that theme in the film?

Another track from A View to a Kill soundtrack that didn't make sense to me was "Bond Escapes Roller." My best guess is that it should have been Rolls-Royce or Rolls, but they couldn't use the name for whatever reason.
