Roger had said they had two Sony Music projects already approved and in the pipeline before that notice went out. Whether or not they are “back in” like LLL, this project was probably one of those two that were already approved at that point.

Yavar

I vaguely remembered that, but was not sure. Thank you Yavar! And jwb1 too, I didn't remember at all what LLL said.

Even if I don't consider the score of Legends of the Fall a masterpiece and find it overly dramatic, I really like it.

Legends Of The Fall was a half-hour too long even on the original album.

I tend to agree but will still pick it up. It’s Horner, after all.

Legends of the Fall!! Finally! Day 1 buy for me!

Me too. Better get it before it is out of stock for the next five years!

If ever there was a lesson to be learned this is it! If you really want it, get it asap! OOS is now the equivalent of OOP. Even if a title isn't OOP, if it takes years to get it back in stock then you might as well consider it a reissue.

Truth! I'm still kicking myself for not getting The Rocketeer quick enough!

I don't think Roger EVER revealed anything unless I've missed that.
As far as I remember it was LLL who revealed they had two titles coming.

You must have missed it. I don’t think I’d call it a “reveal” (was it a secret for some reason?), but when asked last year, Roger did say (like MV) that they had two Sony Music titles in the pipeline when the notice went out:

http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=80972#p80972

But I suspect this is a moot point now; if LLL are back in that’s probably the case with Intrada too.

The rights for Legends of the Fall belong to Sony, don't they?

Did this project start before their new policies about not licensing their catalog to other labels anymore?

LLL said they were exempt from the Sony thing, so maybe Intrada was as well.

I probably missed it but has MV said specifically that LLL was exempt? I remember him basically saying in one of the LLL theads, "Stop getting worked up, things change," which isn't the same thing. My understanding from what he's said is that pre-change projects are still a go and new projects are at best in limbo if not cutoff, but policies and regimes change so it's not like the vault door is locked for eternity.

If I missed it, great, it would be great news. I just don't remember seeing anyone say that.

I haven't heard Cody but I know he is saving hard to buy the upcoming Max Steiner book. I will also be getting that and I hope you will too Cody? Don't let the Golden Age down, let those moths out of your pocketbook and buy it!

Niall ,my friend, you've got the wrong guy if you think I've got moths in my pocketbook.
Are you buying a much more melodic and dramatic score , LEGENDS OF THE FALL , than " You Can Have Her, She's Yours" ?
My two favorite Horner scores are TITANIC and LEGENDS OF THE FALL. Even PFK has acknowledged in the past that comedy scores do not sell that well. Of course, if it's because you love everything that Jerry Goldsmith does, I understand.

I forgot to ask. Do you have the recent book on the life and films of Raoul Walsh. It's a great book ?
Same goes for a book on Dana Andrews. No pictures to color, however.??

I don't buy Horner CDs, I only have two releases of his and that's quite enough for me! " Little Jimmy Horner" as Goldsmith called him, 'nuff said, lol!
