I don't want to get into the sausage making process too much but I'll say that I'm a longtime fan of the show and that it was a great honor to work on these albums. All those years of pining for this music and I never imagined I would find myself in the position of helping make these albums a reality. With X FILES, I got to help my associates with the assembly for Volume 1 and then I took over with Volume 2. Same with MILLENNIUM. I wanted to honor Mark's music and create a good listening experience with each disc. Mark had input on each assembly and gave his blessing. There were a lot of hard choices to make with each collection, especially the first volume. Imagine if that had been our only crack at this..? But in addition to my own choices, we had the benefit of getting input from you, the fans, which helped us drill down even further. I hope everyone enjoys Volume 4. Each disc has so many gems on it. Thanks for this background info! Really looking forward to this. My impression was that despite not knowing how many volumes you would do, you paced yourselves with some cues -- like music for one half of two-part episodes being in one volume and from the other half in another volume, or the music from big two/three-part episodes spread over all volumes and not gathered together. I'm thinking of the mythology episodes here, I know that's only part of the music, but looking at the tracklists of all volumes this is my impression. Also, from the sound samples of Vol.4 I noticed there's one credited to Jeff Charbonneau (music from the tattoo scene in Never Again): was his contribution more significant in that cue? He's credited as music editor in the show, but was he involved in the writing of the music in several occasions?
